It rained at our house yesterday! For those of you who have been stuck under feet of snow for months now, that probably seems like a strange thing to get excited about, but in terribly dry Colorado it was a big celebration! You can see how brown everything is. We have had almost no measurable precipitation all winter.
We watched the movie, "Song Sung Blue" over the weekend. Thanks, Judy, for the recommendation - we really enjoyed it. It's a good story (based on an actual Neil Diamond husband and wife tribute group) and such good music. I didn't realize it would be sad and went through quite a few tissues, but still enjoyed it. We found it streaming on Peacock.
Other than the rain on Tuesday this week, we have had very Spring-like weather. It's been nice for getting outside and walking at some favorite trail areas. The geese are already starting to pair up.
We have been learning to identify some different ducks.
Buffleheads
And Common Goldeneyes -
who really do have yellow eyes,
but it's hard to see in the photo!
LeeAnna's question of the week is about a bad haircut. Has that happened to me? Oh, yes! I have very curly hair, so when I have to find a new stylist, it is stressful! The last time I needed a new one, I called a place that a friend recommended, but couldn't remember who to ask for, so of course I got the newest, youngest hairstylist who had just started there. 😬 And all I can say is, thank goodness hair grows out, lol! The next time I went in, a different stylist met me at the front desk and said the young girl wasn't there anymore, but she could take me. It turns out that was the woman my friend was recommending and I have been her client ever since! Thank goodness for experience!
Curly!

We went to see Song Sung Blue on Valentine’s Day at the theatre. Excellent movie! We are supposed to have rain for the next few days. The snow will be all gone soon. Gail at the cozy quilter.
Good to get some moisture! We had more snow by Dec. 31 than all of the previous winter, but very little snow in the new year. Have you found that your hair has gotten curlier as it's gotten grayer? That's been my experience.
Thanks for the recommendation on Song Sung Blue. I've been a fan of Kate Hudson and her voice for a long time, so I know I'd enjoy it.
Glad you got some rain! We are also in a drought. We got almost an inch last night, with more promised this week, so we are celebrating too.
I think you have beautiful hair! I love the curls. I have a screenshot of my husband and me on my phone. In it I have the shortest and worst haircut I've ever had - the stylist didn't listen to me at all. In spite of that, it is my favorite selfie of us because we both look so happy! You just have to make the best of it and forget how you look for awhile when that happens - lol!
Hurray for moisture. . .rain is better than snow! I've had a few hair experiences. Like you, the cut will grow out and you get to try again! I've always had a lot of fine straight hair. Cut incorrectly, it doesn't take long for my head to look like it resembles a bush that needs pruning! LOL
You have the opposite hair challenges from mine but true that worry on letting someone new come at you with scissors! As someone with stick straight baby hair, I always wanted some curl... I suspect most women want more from their hair than they get! At least we still have some, after a long virus sapped my hair, I was afraid a wig was my future but it's now over a year later and it's starting to fill in again... whew
and whew on that small amount of rain we got, I swear the trees made the sound of a big sigh

My hair is the opposite of yours, the definition of straight. I popped into the mall beauty shop last week and the only stylist available was the barber so that's what I got. And I love it!
yes to bad hair cuts! my hair is fine very thin it is hard to get the right haircut and then when I have a hair dresser move away and have to find a new one I usually go through several before I finally get one I like.
I am so glad you were able to find someone you trust to cut your hair. Enjoy your magnificent curls!
Hooray for rain! Bring on the spring and all it's green. Nice photos of the geese and ducks. The geese at our lake are plentiful and quite messy but I'm happy to see them. I had the best hairdresser in Florida. I'm on my third one here in NC. The first one ruined by hair. The second one made it worse trying to fix the first one's mistakes. Finally, the third one fixed the color issue but my hair is still breaking and her 'cuts' aren't great. Ugh!
Also having curly hair(which I straighten as much as possible) I have been stressed about stylists too. I miss mine from up north. Just had a haircut today, I think she did a fine job, but haven't washed and styled it yet. In the past I had one really disastrous cut, she was too interested in talking to a guy waiting in line for a cut!!
We could do with some rain too. I’d take measurable rain every night, if it just didn’t freeze! I wish, wish, wish for at least some curl in my hair. My sister had some, both my brothers have some…me~ straight as a string. Almost ready to try a perm again.
We are also in a mild drought situation, and need at least 6 inches of rain just to catch up. Love the pics of the ducks, those are two species I have not seen. My hair is board straight and very fine, so it won't hold a style. I haven't had it cut in six months, mainly because when I have time, the stylist I like isn't working, and when she is working, I don't have time!
I have been fortunate with hairdressers, basically having had just 3 throughout my adult years. I have fine, slightly wavy hair, but a couple of cowlicks that need to be taken into consideration when cutting. My worst hair episode wasn't a cut, but a permanent which my husband hated and complained about constantly.
This morning the temperature was around freezing and there was moderate fog. The fog froze on the tree branches making everything look like a winter wonderland for an hour or so. Our winter has been the coldest and snowiest in more than a decade. But signs of spring are showing up.

We got some much welcome rain here this week. Like CO, OK has been really dry too. Bad haircuts are never fun and it's so hard to find a stylist that can work with your hair type.
