Midweek Update

It's a busy week!  Even though we aren't traveling for Thanksgiving or having a large group to our house, it seems like there's lots to do anyway.  Some of it is completely fun - I went with a couple friends to see "Wicked: For Good" Monday and loved it!   I always love musicals.

Today (Tuesday), I met a friend to go for a long walk.  She was one of my longtime teaching partners, but moved to another part of the state a couple years ago.  We try to get together whenever she is back in town to see her parents.

But there has been time to work on the projects on my list from last week.  Christmas Cats was a quick finish, and I am so happy with it.

Isn't this an awesome backing?  I shared a peek at it when I was working on the binding, but here is the whole thing.

I did finish my November Table Scraps project, and here's just a peek of it.  I'll share the complete finish on Friday.

In thinking about what I really want to work on in the next few days, I remembered that it's time to finish up the last little heart quilt for the quilt stand display, so that I can change everything over to Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving.  I already had sewn on the borders - it just needs quilting and binding.  I think that will be doable by December 1st!

On today's list - bake a pumpkin pie!  I'm off to do just that!

Good morning, Diann and Happy Wednesday. Your Christmas Cats quilt is adorable and the backing is just perfect. Oooh , I am intrigued by your tablescraps quilt. The penguins are too cute. And I must not forget your adorable Dec. Heart block. I cannot thank you enough for stitching those with me. Enjoy your busy day in the kitchen. I will be working on dressing and casseroles today. Hugs.

Those cats are so fun, peeking out from the corner of each block! We would like to go see Wicked for Good too. We saw both the play and the movie, Wicked. Of course your scraps included a penguin. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Gail at the cozy quilter.

Good morning to you! The cats turned out so nicely -- and they're finished! I confess that I haven't seen any of Wicked, nor have I read the book(s)....glad you enjoyed the show.

So cute, your little cat quilt. I like the borders you did on the December heart. I tried to watch the original Wicked and just couldn't sit through it. I am not a fan of musicals.

I am in love with Christmas Cats! With that in mind, I ordered myself a layer cake of Christmas prints and can't wait to get my hands on it. ;)
We are cleaning this morning, then this afternoon I'll go ahead and bake the 2 turkey breasts and have the oven free tomorrow. Our crew will all be here tomorrow between 1:00-2:00. We've got the air mattresses ready and the guest room will get cleaned of cat hair today.
Hoping your Thanksgiving is just wonderful!

What a great backing for those cats! How fun to have seen Wicked for Good (I love the title) with friends. Friends make the event so much more memorable! Happy pie baking and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm baking pies today too! Love your sweet cat quilt. Perfect for the holiday, as is your embroidery. You'll get it done by Dec 1st I'm sure. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

The Christmas Cat project is really cute. You've been busy getting a lot of seasonal projects done. Hope the pumpkin pie came out well. My Girl has been busy baking pies for work. Fingers crossed there is still some left to share with us.

You already know I love the backing fabric on Christmas Cats. The little heart quilt will be a nice addition to your Christmas decor. I'm off to bake a pumpkin pie as well. Oh, and the cornbread for the stuffing. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Diann.

That is the perfect backing for that quilt! I haven't seen any of the Wicked plays or movies, but my daughter enjoys them.
