You guys! We saw the Northern Lights at our house Tuesday night! It was amazing! Definitely a first for me.

And there were wild turkeys in a neighborhood we drove through, going from one part of town to another. They are so fascinating - and so big! We have a couple flocks that we see around town, but you never know where they will show up.
LeeAnna's question of the week is about how we decorate for Thanksgiving. For several years, most of my "decorating" has been with quilted things. I love tabletoppers and runners and have made many. Here is our dining room table this year - with my hexie topper that I made during Carole's Fall Fortnight. There's a pumpkin, and some angels, and a candle for the season.
I zoomed in on this little angel because he is one of three that were gifts from a long ago 5th grade student. There's one for Halloween, this one for Thanksgiving, and one more for Christmas. They are holiday favorites of mine!

Great photos of the northern lights, we cannot see them here. We have a good size flock of wild turkeys here, they spend time at our place eating acorns.
I'm so glad you captured that! What a great photo - was that with an iPhone? When I take pics at night, even though I have it on night setting, any lights around just glare. There was supposed to be another showing last night, but we waited in vain to see them. Even though our subdivision is out in the boonies, too many of our neighbors have their Christmas lights up, so we saw nothing.
How cool to see wild turkeys! Your table looks so pretty, love that goofy little angel. :)
Were you able to see the lights with your naked eye, or only through the camera? We caught in on camera last night. But the photos are not all that great, but there was purple and green.
Those are great photos of the Northern lights! It was too overcast to see them from where I live. What fun table decorations you have for the holiday!
Ooh - that is exciting! What great pictures.
Oh wow! You got stunning photos of the Northern lights!
The Northern Lights were incredible Tuesday night. You got some great photos. Your table topper looks great with your special pieces. Enjoy the cooler weather, it definitely encourages more stitching time.
The Northern Lights were seen around here too, I'm told. I never saw any but I go to bed early. Lol! Also then I learned that most folks here couldn't really see the Lights except through their cameras on Night Mode. There have truly been some beautiful pictures though. Your Thanksgiving decorations are beautiful. I like how you're still using gifts from long ago students!
Wow the Northern Lights looked amazing, Diann! And look at all of those turkeys! They are fascinating to watch aren't they? Your Thanksgiving table decor is adorable. I love how you incorporate your quilts in your decor as well as little treasures which bring back fond memories. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
I am so late getting to blogs today - I didn't even realize until this evening that I forgot about them earlier in the day. Love all the turkeys we used to have flocks around here some years ago and then they all disappeared. We had northern lights here too - not last night but the night before
What great photos of the Northern Lights, Diann! We had clouds here last night - boo-hoo. I have some Halloween decorations somewhere, but I haven’t found them yet. I think I may have packed them away with the Christmas decorations (a dumb thing to do) instead of the Halloween decorations!
Fantastic photo! Too cloudy this whole week :( It's on my bucket list though. I love that table topper! So pretty with that blue/green!
Those northern lights are amazing! Sadly, we were not able to see them from my house but north of here by the horse farms got a little color in the sky. I'd love to see them sometime. Turkeys, we have a lot of near us. They are so smelly but really pretty.
I too love your Northern Lights photo and what a lucky capture! Also love your tabletopper and your figurine which is such a sweet keepsake. I had a flock of turkeys stroll through yesterday; they appear so unconcerned but something happened that I'm going to talk about on the blog.
