Starburst relaxing in the living room!
After a finish that has occupied my brain and sewing room for weeks, I always have a hard time settling on what's the next thing to work on. Does that happen to you?
So Sunday afternoon I just went through some project boxes and baskets, and thought about what I want to focus on next. My other RSC block set for 2025, the 16 patch stars, need to be sewn together. I'm going to contribute these to the current Many Hands and Many Hearts block drive. I'll send them as a completed top only.
I've gotten a start on my November Table Scraps project with these strippy pieces. This one does have a deadline (self-imposed, mostly) of the last Friday of the month. At this point, I'm just hoping my idea for this project works out!
I Spy penguins! Thank you, Libby!
I got all the pieces cut out for the little Christmas version of the quarter star blocks. I'm going to call this "Christmas Cats," because this setting makes me think of cats peeking out a window.
It occurred to me that I should finish this up and
send it to my older son and his girlfriend
who have two cats who are very entertaining.
Which gives me another deadline! Well, decision made, and once I started sewing, it didn't take long to make progress on the Christmas Cats.

Aaw those blocks do look like peeking cats. How cute ! Have a wonderful day , Diann. Hugs
Isn’t it funny that, with that setting, those quarter star blocks look like cats! Nice donation quilting top too. Your new quilt looks quite at home, relaxing on the red chair. Gail at the cozy quilter
Yes, it is always difficult to pivot onto the next project.... when there are so many to select from! Those stars are fun. Enjoy sewing those cats!
Oh those stars do look like curious kitties for sure;))) Your 16-patch Stars are so pretty in that rainbow setting, too...
I always feel kinda lost when a project gets totally finished. Glad you honed in on what's next;))) hugs, Julierose
Peeking cats . . .how "perfect!" You will have that project finished in no time! Sometimes, I can't decide which project to tackle next; but only rarely. My little squirrel ALWAYS has plans!
They really do look like cats peeking out the window! Will you put button eyes on them after quilting it?
Oh, cute cute! That does look like peeking cats! You might consider adding some eyes to really make that even cuter.
Yes, I am in the same position now, finishing two big quilts and now looking around for the next project.
One project leads to another.....love the starburst cats!
You always have such great ideas for quilts. Your Starburst quilt is stunning! And those new quarter star blocks do look like cute kitties peeking out of the window. I vote no eyes added. I like the power of imagination.
I totally can see cats peaking out of windows!! What a great gift for your son and his girlfriend. You are making nice progress on your quilting projects, Diann.
So many pretty projects! Love the idea of Christmas Cats. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I think Starburst loves its new home! You did really well on your RSC 16-patch star blocks.
Those quarter stars really do look like peeking kitties. The cornerstones and sashing add a nice touch. About how big do you think that quilt might end up? That is a great idea for a gift.
yes I know what you mean about settling on the next project it is hard at times to decide what you want to do. Your quilt turned out great and will nice for winter when reading and watching tv
