First, to update from my Sunday post, Woven Wreaths is finished! It looks so much better with the bound edge - why didn't I do this months ago?!
I've been trying to spend some time with my 2024 RSC project, Patchwork Hearts, at least once a month, and it hasn't been out in awhile, so this seemed like a good week for that. The first order of business was to finish quilting the second row, which didn't take long.
I'm quilting these one row at a time, and will need to choose a sashing color that will connect the rows together, so I was auditioning a few different sashing fabrics the other day - a red, a blue, and a gold. I didn't like any of them! Now I'm thinking something tone-on-tone in a white or a cream that will blend in more with the quilt design will be the way to go. Just have to find it!
Fortunately there's still time to figure that out while I'm quilting the other three rows of this project! The next step was to prep another row to quilt.
Backing cut for all three.
And getting started on some quilting...
This orange heart is a favorite block, especially for October!

Love that Woven Wreath, just had to call in to say so. And the hearts are great, yes that orange one is so good.
The binding frames your Woven wreaths perfectly! I hope you have put this quilt out on display…it’s wonderful! I agree on the heart quilt sashing…just use the background colour. Quilt on! It will soon be done. Gail at the cozy quilter
Woven Wreaths is just perfect, I love the little blocks in between your embroidered blocks. You chose your fabrics well - they really set off that pretty stitching. Where will this reside?
Oh I love that orange patchwork heart! Good luck finding the right sashing!
Love the woven wreaths finish, now you can check that one off your list! I'm glad you pulled out your patchwork hearts, I do think you are on the right track thinking of a tone on tone neutral for the sashing on this one.
Just lovely hearts you are quilting; the orange has such a nice selection of fabrics...and your Woven Wreaths are beautiful..
Nice works Hugs, Julierose
Woven Wreaths with the binding is stunning--it was amazing before though! I don't know why we balk at some parts of a project. Once we do it, we often ask ourselves why we waited so long! I like the idea of a neutral sashing for your hearts. The orange heart for October is a great one!
Woven Wreaths is gorgeous, such a wonderful way to showcase your handwork. Your rainbow hearts are coming along nicely.
Woven Wreaths is absolutely gorgeous. Your stitching looks great surrounded by the sashing and blocks. Patchwork Hearts is coming together nicely. Hope you find a sashing you like soon.
Just lovely hearts you are quilting, Diann...
Your Woven Wreath is so pretty! Isn't it funny how long it takes to bind a quilt sometimes? I think I always want to start the next project first. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
