Midweek Update

Getting caught up on my 2025 Stay at Home Round Robin this week - first by sewing up the long seams from round 4's border.

At this point, the top measures 21 x 22,
a little bit more rectangular than square.

Then, on Monday, Brenda, from Songbird Designs, posted her choice for border #5, which is log cabin blocks.  It's our choice whether to sew full, half, or quarter blocks, and I chose quarter log cabins.  So far I've made six of them with 1.5 inch logs, and they finish at 3 inches.

I made two with the floral square in the center,
and four with pink in the center.

The reason for that was to set these blocks in the corner of the top, like this -

They'll go on opposite corners like this -

I'm going to wait for the final border prompt next Monday
to decide how I will finish this up!

Sharing at the round 5 link-up at Songbird Designs
and at The Inquiring Quilter for Wednesday Wait Loss.
And Finished or Not Friday at Alycia Quilts.

Oh, I just love the quarter log cabins in the corners, Diann. They look like flowers. I look forward to seeing what you do next. Enjoy your day. Hugs.

What a pretty little "garnish" those logs make on your quilt! Your quilt has such a lovely balance with your block placement. It is going to be so pretty. I can't believe you are already waiting for the final prompt - that seemed fast!

Your quilting world looks like Spring even though your actual world looks pretty Wintery! Stay warm. We're cold here too but not as cold as you these past few days!

Your #5 border blocks turned out beautifully. I need to get going on mine. Hard to believe next week is it for this challenge.

Thanks for the info. I’ve been contemplating 1/4 log cabins. Unsure of how or where they should go. I, too, will wait for Round 6. Now that PQ16.4 is done and posted, I’ll try to build some log cabins today. I like the color placement on yours!

I like the corner cabins and I hope that Round 6 will work with that placement!
