I Like Thursday #425

What a difference a week makes!  Last week, we were cold and snowy - this week temps in the 50s and 60s.  Such a pleasant change!  It's not time to do yard or garden work in Colorado yet, but one can dream about it.  So we purchased a new spinner for the front garden!

Now it just needs some wind to get it to spin.
(Can't believe I am wishing for wind, lol!)

I love our local Ace Hardware store!  We don't shop there a lot because prices tend to be higher, but this week they had something I really needed that no one else had - a new light bulb for the Ott Lite that I use on the sewing machine table.  The guy we talked to at Lowes actually recommended we try Ace (their competitor!), and sure enough, they had one!

I can see again!

I just finished this interesting book yesterday, and enjoyed it very much!  I thought it was historical fiction, which it somewhat is, but also there is an element of fantasy in it.  It's about two women - one in the 1920s - and one in the current day who are trying to figure out life and how to be successful in the world of bookselling.

LeeAnna's question of the week is about compliments from our spouses - do we get them, do we give them?  Mike's sense of humor is one of the things that I have grown to appreciate over our years together, so a compliment given in a funny way is his style.  So, when he tells me I'm his #1, it often turns into a Star Trek reference, lol!

Do I compliment him in return?  Probably not nearly enough - I'll have to work on that!

I wasn't home for the worst of the cold weather, but I'm certainly enjoying the warm up this week. Sounds like an interesting book. We don't so much compliment each other as express appreciation for how we support each other. Love the Star Trek reference.

We are enjoying the warmer weather too and trying to loosen up enough to do some bending for garden chores! When we lived in south Texas we had an Ace that had all kinds of displays for women - jewelry, some articles of clothing, house decor, etc. Is yours like that? Lol on the Star Trek reference - there was a time that we both said "make it so" all the time!

We are warmer today than another cooler front goes through. I'm looking forward to nicer temps in St. Pete this weekend for the Indy race than last years hot. I like when places are honest and will send you to their competitor to get what you need if they don't have it. Good customer service. Have a great Thursday.

you know I'm not even sure if we have and ACE Hardware - I rarely go to these stores - it is more Mike's thing then mine - I go to Lowes for the plants and garden supplies but rarely for anything else. I love your spinner

Cute spinner. We've warmed up a bit today but it is supposed to get cold again over the weekend. I have a similar light that needs a bulb. Hubby ordered one from Amazon but it was the wrong one. I would have never thought to check Ace.

Good light makes such a difference! The spinner is so colorful. I like our local Ace.

Our weather can't make up its mind! I am starting to dream about the garden. Love your spinner! Gotta have good light for sewing.

Wow, warming up there already in February which is so awesome. We are not done with winter yet, sigh. Love those kite blocks of yours in the last post. I cannot work without good lighting so I have Ott lights everywhere! I think I read once that a good sense of humour topped women's list of what they wanted in a guy. So Mike fits the bill!

It is good to hear that it is warming up in your neck of the woods. I love your new garden spinner. And thank you for telling us where to get bulbs for the Ott light. I would have never thought of Ace Hardware. I will have to check mine out. Happy quilting. Hugs
