I Like Thursday #469

Good morning, and Happy Thursday!  We like Dad jokes at our house...

😊

I went to a concert the other night!  A friend had an extra ticket and invited me along.  These gals are a BeeGees tribute group.  It was fun!

I have been reading (and enjoying very much) Miss Morgan's Book Brigade.  It is historical fiction set in France in WWI, about Anne Morgan (daughter of J. P. Morgan) and a group of women who go to war torn France in 1918 to help the people whose villages were destroyed by the Germans as they retreated.

LeeAnna's question of the week is about Valentines.  Do you remember the tiny little cards and envelopes from elementary school?  I sure do, because I also did them with my own kids (it was great practice for writing your letters!), with the preschoolers I taught, and all the way up into 5th grade.  And, yes, the rule was not to leave anyone out!  Shopping for Valentines was very important - my boys always liked the box sets that had robots or something space-aged on them.  Something like this, probably!

Those were the days! 😊

Hope you're having a great week!

Hubs and I are laughing about the She Gees. We've loved the Bee Gees for decades!

I saw the valentines boxes in the stores. Reminded me of the kids picking out just the right box.... they liked the ones with candy attached. I remember the conversation hearts and the red hot hearts - they were my Mom's favorites! Good memories - and yes, everyone in the class got one.

That sounds like a fun concert! I remember those boxes of Valentines too. It was really important not to leave anyone out, even the kids who didn't like me had to give me one. I was never the popular kid in school, quite the opposite. I was always the new kid in class as I moved every 2 years or so.

SheBees sounds like an interesting tribute band. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Oh the days of shopping for Valentines. I always had to something a little 'extra' with mine because I wanted them to be different. Thanks for bringing back those memories!

I like dad jokes too and often send them to friends who like them too . During Covid, I made fabric postcard valentines and sent them in the mail. They were very appreciated ! I remember picking out valentines for my friends when I was little. Gail at the cozy quilter

I love the Bee Gees still and love to swing and sway, bop whatever you want to call it while listening. Thanks for the book suggestion

OMG, I remember those little valentine cards as well as agonizing which box of them to get to hand out in class. :-) Fun memories.

SheGees - what a hoot!

I laughed over the She Gees. . .what a fun concert! I too remember those Valentines. . .it seems like there were just enough for the class members in the box. Do you remember making the huge Valentine card envelope you made to hold all the cards?

I've never heard of the She Gees, but what a fun concept. I remember the Valentines cards. But the boxes I had to make and my daughter had to make are probably my more fun memories. Probably a crafty person thing?
