View out our window on Sunday afternoon:
Winter came back!
In case you wondered what our local wild turkeys do when it's snowing -
So it's been good sewing and reading weather! I decided on this border for the Valentine bunnies. It's quilted now and binding on, ready to sew down. I'll share the finish on Sunday.
This brightens up the cold gray days!
I recently finished this book. It's the most recent in the Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny. At the end of the previous book, The Grey Wolf, she had left us on a cliff hanger, so I'd been anxious to see what happened. I have to admit it wasn't my favorite of the series, but I enjoyed being back into that world anyway. Isn't that why we read book series?
LeeAnna's question of the week is about what games we like to play. I am a fan of word games and play quite a few. In fact, as I was trying to list them for this post, I was surprised at how many there actually are! 😆 Words with Friends, Word Chums (very similar to WWF), Wordle, Quordle (instead of one word to guess like Wordle, there are four words and nine chances), Crossword Master, and our latest favorite is Waffle.
In this game you swap letters to move them to where the words are made correctly.
All these are available as apps, and except for Words with Friends and Word Chums which are played with partners, you can play one time each day. These are what I do when the news comes on at 5:00 before making dinner!

Great fabric choices for the valentine bunnies! I play wordle and Blossom each day. I’ve always loved word games.
Snowy and very cold here too. Gail at the cozy quilter.
I was thinking yesterday that Valentine colors need some warmth, so I like the warmth you added to the Valentines bunnies! I play Wordle every morning. I play the free games on NYT, so my string of solved Wordles doesn't always get saved - bummer! ;)
Winter has definitely let itself be known pretty much national wide it seems. We warmed up a bit, but now are back to the bitterly cold again. The pink and green are unusual for Valentine's, but it definitely says spring, which I more than ready for. Stay warn!
I have not heard of waffle. Have you tried connections from the ny times? One free try a day. 16 words, try to get them into groups of 4. Some days are really challenging. Pretty quilt border for the bunnies. Enjoy the snow. 28 degrees this morning in florida.
Your bunny embroidery is precious! The line up of Turkeys made me laugh. :D Stay warm!~!
Waffle looks interesting. I will give it a try! Thank you!
I have never seen the wild turkeys on the fence like that!! I have not heard of the Word Chums - my sister and I used to have word with friends but both of us started to have trouble with the ap and haven't done it in a long time now. I am hopeful we will see a big melt starting this week now that it will be in the 40's-50's
Brrr....that photograph looks like it is cold. Now I know what turkeys do! Your fabric choices for the bunnies are spot on! I will have to get on the list for the Louise Penny book. I've read/listened to all the others!
Turkeys on the fence (rather than turkey in the straw....) I've listened to all the Gamache books and am in a very long queue for the audio edition of the new one.
My favorite word game online is Octordle 😊
I start my day with all the free NYT games -- and my day sometimes begins before midnight! Got Wordle in 4 today.
I found the latest Lousie Penny intriguing and prescient in that it was written before the current President made known his desire to make Canada the 51st state.
You should add Octordle to your word games. It is just like Quordle but with 8 words and there are five varients of game every day (Classic, Chill, Extreme, Sequence and Rescue).
Since I'm not making my FL trip this year (cataract surgery) I'll be able to put out my few Valentine and St. Pat's Day hangings.
We've had bitter cold for the last week and had 9" of snow last weekend. I think the new East Coast storm will mostly miss us.

Such a delight to look out the window and see people enjoying the snow. How fun to see the turkeys roosting . Do they ever come into your yard? Your embroidered block looks wonderful, Diann. Stay warm and cozy. Hugs.
Those turkeys are a riot! Your border fabrics are perfect for the bunny embroidery. I look forward to seeing it on Sunday.
I like word games, but I don't play anything on my phone. The only game I routinely play is Free Cell on the Roku box. It is fun, a game doesn't take long, and I am at the top Master level for difficulty so it is still challenging.
