A finish to share!

My Zipper quilt is "All Zipped Up" this week!  (Thank you, Kate at Life in Pieces, for the name idea!)  I had to look back a ways on the blog to see when I started making these blocks, and it was all the way back in February of 2023.  I had seen these blocks on several blogs, and found the original design at Klein Meisje Quilts.  It was one of those "I just want to try a couple of these blocks" projects!

I ended up making 42 blocks for a small quilt, about 42 x 54.  The quilt top was completed back in July.  It was fun choosing pairs of fabrics - usually one print and one solid - for each block.  I only duplicated one print (and not on purpose!) - can you find it?

Now it is quilted and finished!  I used the serpentine stitch on my sewing machine and quilted down all the vertical seams.  I've used that stitch on many quilts, but this time my sewing machine really complained about it.  I was so happy to get the quilting finished - and now I think my Pfaff needs a spa visit!

View from the back:

It's already been through the washer and dryer so it's soft and crinkly and cozy!

This will be a donation quilt sent to Cynthia's Many Hands, Many Hearts charity.

And I had to try a quilt roll photo just for fun!

It’s been fun watching your collection of zipper blocks grow each month. So satisfying to finish a RSC quilt!

Beautiful finish Diann! I've loved it from the first few blocks. I zoomed in to see your fabrics and love the fussy cut birdies and the kitties - all the fabrics are so pretty.

Congrats on a bold, bright and fun scrappy finish.

What a grand Friday finish!! It just doesn't seem possible that you started it that long ago!

That’s a fun quilt. I’ve eyed that block but haven’t jumped on it yet. I think my issue is I try to use squares I cut from left over bits of other projects and I rarely get multiple squares. Your roll pic looks great. Hum, I might be copying yours as I have a couple of finished quilts ready to show.

I don't remember when I started to see those zipper blocks but many have done them and they look great - the finished quilt is really nice

Great finish! You finished it up zippity-do-dah! Is there an economical way of mailing quilts for donation? Last time I mailed off a quilt it was $50 if I remember correctly.

Did you decide on a new name for your zipper quilt? There were several good suggestions! :)

The zipper quilt turned out great. The pieced backing is fun. I love a freshly laundered quilt and it's crinkly-ness.

Congrats on the finish! I love how it turned out. I'm making those blocks too, lost count of how many I have and still have a few black to do.

Congrats on your sweet RSC quilt finish, Diann! I looked, but couldn't spot the duplicate fabric. What a lovely donation to a good cause!

I believe I did find the duplicate fabric. A small floral print with hints of orange. All zipped up came together nicely. Congratulations on the finish.
