I Like Thursday #376

I've spent quite a bit of time again this week coordinating my mom's care after her hospital stay last week, but she is much better now, so that's good.  She is spending some time in a rehab facility to build her strength and independence back up.  I hope it won't be for too long, though - she is anxious to go home!   Thanks, everyone, for all your good wishes for Mom!

We treated ourselves to a box of Thin Mints this week!  Yum!  I can't go a year without a box or two.

I finished up the February heart for Melisa's Year of Hearts project the other night.  This is one of those where I just used every sweet and happy color that fit the design!

We've just started watching "The Good Doctor" for our evening entertainment.  Have you watched this?  I think it's up to Season 7 just starting this week, but we're starting at the beginning.  I love the main character played by Freddie Highmore - a young doctor who is autistic.  The show portrays the other doctors as quite arrogant and dismissive of this character's talents.  I hope they get better about that!

LeeAnna's question of the week is who is our favorite TV or movie fictional couple and I knew my answer right away - Rick Castle and Kate Beckett from the show "Castle."  That was a very favorite show that I watched every episode of back when it was running on ABC.  I enjoyed the storyline - Castle is a writer who needs inspiration for his books, so he starts shadowing Beckett, the police detective.  Of course Castle ends up helping to solve the crimes, and eventually they fall in love.

He's funny, and she's the serious detective - together they were very fun to watch!

Hope you're having a good week!  Thanks for visiting on I Like Thursday hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.

So glad your mom is doing better. Yes, we've watched the Good Doctor since its beginning, and enjoyed the series. Yes, things do get better as the main character grows in his ability to cope, and the others respect his ability to solve problems. The special effects are wonderful showing his thought processes. They get away from that a bit in season 6, but seem to be getting back to it in season 7. Freddie Highmore does a such a spectacular job in his acting, it is weird to see him as himself in other acting!

That is great news about your Mom! I'm sure she is eager to be "normal" again, and it will be a relief to you too. Thin Mints used to be my favorite - we haven't bought a Girl Scout cookie in decades! Haha on Castle and Kate. I used to make fun of her running after crooks in her high heeled boots with her perfect hair - she is gorgeous!

glad your mom is starting to feel better. I have cookies ordered from my son in law's young niece and she will deliver them soon. I hear they are setting up a booth to sell also so she and troop should do well.
I have heard of both of those shows but I haven't watched them - I will write them down on my growing list of recommendations

Hi Diann! I love the show Castle! I can't see it with our current provider but I enjoyed their banter. And it's Girl Scout cookie time, too?!! We haven't seen any around our neighborhood yet but I'll bet I can pick up some outside the grocery store. Happy Thursday to you! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Thin mints are the best! I really enjoyed watching Castle. I fell in love with Fillion on Firefly - the guy is quite a character.

Thin Mints makes me think of my mom, they were her favorite! I haven't had Girl Scout cookies in years; no one I know sells them. That's probably a good thing for me - LOL. I loved the samoas. We used to watch Castle, it was a favorite show (supposedly the two actors do not get along in real life; they covered that well on screen). I'd have to say my favorite "couple" would be Hanks and Ryan - I just thought they had such good chemistry in their movies. I need to watch more of The Good Doctor, I think I watched one or two episodes of the first season.

thin mints!!!
yes, the good doctor is my current and only favorite drama on tv but this is the last season. It got better each season so if you like it now, you'll love it. I'm sad it's ending, like This is Us, and New Amsterdam. No current drama takes their place. At least there is still pbs and BBC. Did you know ovation channel shows mysteries from BBC every day?
I never watched castle but thanks for the suggestion, need a show to watch.

I am so glad to hear that your mom is doing better, Diann. Hopefully, she will back into the swing of the things very soon. Your Heart block looks amazing. It is so cheerful and pretty and I love the fabric that you used. Thank you for stitching it. I began working on March's block today. I haven't watched either of these shows. Thank you for the recommendations. Freddy Highmore was very good in Bates Motel a few years ago. He is very talented. Have a fabulous day!

So glad your mother is doing better. Fingers crossed since on schedule to be home soon. Your heart stitchery turned out beautifully. I've not seen either of the shows you've listed. I'll have to check out The Good Doctor.
