I Like Thursday #325

It's another snowy day here at our house.  I think northern Colorado has had snow on 6 of the last 7 Wednesdays.  Maybe this means March is coming in like a lion, and will go out like a lamb?

Today's view from my comfy chair.
The flickers don't mind the snow - they're hungry!

Our home is a 1970s ranch.  It started out with two bedrooms and an unfinished basement.  Instead of moving to a bigger house as our family grew, we just keep doing things to this house!  One of the first improvements was to finish the basement into a family room, which we used for that purpose until our youngest son graduated from college.  Then I made it my sewing room!

Fabric storage and sewing machine table:

Lots of room for hanging all my creations on the walls.
Younger son calls it my Maker Space!

And looking the other direction, including my design wall.

It's a nice, big room with lots of space, and it's all mine!  That's the best part of the whole thing.  I do love the design wall area - it is so useful.  We just stapled a couple yards of Warm and White batting on the wall, and that has worked great!

Speaking of what's on the design wall - I made the pinwheels for my Stay at Home Round Robin project yesterday.

Here is my center and all the blocks I've made.  I think I like the pinwheels as cornerstones, with the rest of the blocks going along the sides.  I know I'll need to add a little something to the strips of blocks to make them fill the space.  I'll be working on that this week!

Sharing at Quilting Gail for the SAHRR Round 6 link-up.

I'm also joining in with I Like Thursday,  hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color!

Loved seeing your Maker Space, great name for it too! Our March has come in nicely so now I am worried what is in store for the end.

our house must be about the same size minus the basement and we built a dining room on to the kitchen as we had such a small eat in space we felt it was too small. I bet you are glad you didn't get the snow California did!

Your SAHRR is looking great! I covet your design wall. I put a Murphy bed on my only wall space so my design wall has to be removable.
I was thinking the bed would be great when family and friends drop in. It has been used once; I use my design wall every day ... sigh.

I sew in the basement too but mine isn't finished. However, loads of space! Maybe I'd keep it neater if it was finished off!?!?! Your SAHRR is looking really pretty. Love all the dark blues you used. You have sure had a good snow season. We've had next to none here in southern IL. The weather guy said we may have gotten a total of 5" in St. Louis. Lousy!

What a fun space you have! The SAHRR is looking great. I agree, the pinwheels on the corners is perfect.

I love that your son has a nickname for your space! :D Loved the tour of your neat space Diann, and I know you enjoy it so much. My batting gets threads all over it on my design wall, and when I try to clean it with the lint roller, it pulls out batting. Do you have a secret for cleaning yours? Hope you have a great weekend!
