I Like Thursday #210

Good morning!  We had a beautiful sunrise yesterday.  I'm always thankful to catch a sunrise at just the right moment.

I'm on another pumpkin kick this week - I love pumpkin yogurt!

I used the last of my roasted pumpkin to make us some pumpkin pancakes the other day, and they were delicious, too.

Here's the recipe I used:

I'm pretty sure this squirrel was enjoying the last of the pumpkin we put out in the garden for them to eat.  He had hauled it up to the top of the fence post!

I loved stitching this sweet sewing machine earlier this week.   The variegated blue DMC floss is one of my favorites to sew with and I haven't used it in awhile - nice to get back to it.

I've been reading...

Quiltfolk!

A generous local friend shares her copies with me.  Each issue is about a state - this one is Minnesota, where two of my favorite quilters live.  (Wink!)  I enjoy reading about quilters around the country, and seeing what they're making.

Season 4 of The Crown is out, so we've been binge-watching that show this week.  It's fascinating historically, but also sad to know the story of Diana and her life as a royal.

I hope you're having a good week!  I'm joining in with LeeAnna and friends at Not Afraid of Color for I Like Thursday!

Love your stitchery. I love Quiltfolk, but man it is expensive. Gorgeous picture of the sunrise. I love pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread, but I have never been one for all the other pumpkin stuff. Perhaps after working in the bakery I am pumpkined out. Great picture of the squirrel. I know that I am pretty thrilled I got my pumpkins all roasted and pureed for pies. Maybe I should consider making some pumpkin bread. I save a recipe lately for a Sweet potato cornbread with Peach Bourbon butter.

Love that sunset - what a good shot. I got Quiltfolk the first year it was out and although it is a nice magazine I decided it was too pricey for me and haven't gotten it sense and have passed my copies on to the library so others can see it. I have not seen that brand of yogurt or any with pumpkin! But seeing your pancakes reminded me that I have one oatmeal chocolate chip waffle left over that is frozen - it might be time to heat that up and eat it up

I like catching sunrises & sunsets too. True beauty. Thanks for the pancake link. I'm going to make them this weekend or next.

We are binging The Crown too, a little too quickly, so we're trying to pace ourselves (it's not working). I'm not a fan of pumpkin, but I do like seeing what others enjoy. The Minnesota Quiltfolk is a good one - three of the women from my local quilt group are in the issue. Rosie Werner is one of them. Carol Schwankl and Victoria Miller are the other two. They are seriously talented women!

I just got caught up on your posts, Diann. Lovely quilting projects! We are watching The Crown as well and I'm finding the Diana story line sad. Thanks for sharing links. That magazine looks like one I would enjoy.

we still have one more episode in the last season of crown and it's exciting to know we have a season in the wings!

Great sunrise. I subscribed to Quiltfolk for a year when they had a special offer. Also bought some back issues at a reduced price, then grabbed some at a guild meeting for $1.00 each. But I didn't renew because it's so expensive and I haven't read all the ones I already have.

Beautiful sunrise! Our breakfast area faces east so we enjoy more sunrises than sunsets. Yum on the pumpkin pancakes! I remember variegated blue from the snow embroidery last year. Your sewing machine turned out so pretty!

We also love pumpkin anything. I made elk chili the other day and we had a little bit of home grown pumpkin left so I mixed it in. It was wonderful.

So how do you think the squirrel carried that pumpkin skin up there. I keep thinking about it and it would be such a challenge. I guess he must have dragged it with his/her mouth?

Cute post!

Sunrise is pretty. The pumpkin yogurt looks delicious. Your stitching looks like it's coming along nicely.

We need to get back to The Crown. I used to like pumpkin coffee creamer, but now I don’t, I wonder if I overdid it? *smile*
Our sunrises have been gorgeous too lately, my friend had pictures! I don’t get up early enough! Ha, sometimes I do, but I’m usually trying so hard to be quiet, I hide in the basement, Mr Busy doesn’t sleep well, sometimes he doesn’t come to bed til 3:30 or 4:00 am. So if he is finally sleeping at 6am...I don’t want to wake him.
