Organizing...

This has been a very productive week for me in my sewing room.  17 inches of snow combined with my husband still recuperating from recent surgery has given me lots of time to sew.  I finished up my Seaglass quilt and worked on lots of RSC2016 blocks.  And, finally, I spent some time organizing my scraps!

I worked on turning this...

Into this...

And this!

These photos were taken early on in the process, and my bins are much fuller now.  The brown basket is about halfway to empty, so there is still lots more to do!  But, surprisingly, this process is very satisfying!  I'll be back at it this afternoon...

Linking up to Oh Scrap! at Quilting is More Fun than Housework for lots of scrappy inspiration.

You're doing great on your organizing, keep it up! I tried to do some of that last year, it worked for a while, LOL

I find it satisfying to sort scraps into different bins too. So much more manageable I think. Have fun using them up.

What an inspirational post. It seems I organize several times a year but it never stays that way. I'm feeling the urge to resort now!

I need to do that with a box of little bits that's getting too full - I just keep chucking more on top and now it's starting to overflow onto the floor... 8)
Gotta go get more bins!

I think you will really enjoy having your scraps sorted by color. I find them so much easier to use. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

I like that you've sorted by color! What sizes are you cutting your scraps?

It is satisfying to get them sorted isn't it! What is the smallest size you keep? That is my hardest decision. I know that Amanda at Crazy Mom Quilts keeps tiny scraps, but I'm not sure I'll ever use them.!
Hope your husband is recovering well. :)

Well done. I wish I had a better system for scraps.
