Flowers and stitches

One sunflower has been working hard to bloom in my garden (and the zinnias, too)!

So, in its honor, I thought I would stitch another sunflower on the Ole Crow Saltbox piece.  There are more leaves and the center of the flower to do, but you get the idea!

I couldn't decide which project to focus on, so I also stitched two little cherries on Hello Summer...

And I had promised my self that I would get some more quilting done on the orange peel project.  I did do a little bit of work on it, but it was super hot here in Colorado this week, so it was hard to have a quilt on my lap, even a small one.  This is orange peel #11 of 24, so some progress has been made.  It's cooler today, so maybe quilting will be possible!

A little of everything this week!

The sunflower fields are in their full glory here. I have my sunflower cross stitch on display in our living room. It’s the season for 🌻 sunflowers! Every little bit of stitching counts. Very hot here too. I spent most of my time yesterday in the air conditioned house. Happy stitching today. Stay cool. Gail at the cozy quilter

Loving your orange peel blocks in those pretty KF fabrics!!:)))
We are on, what they say, will be the last of these lovely cooler days for a while. so, deck sitting is definitely on my agenda--at least for the morning hours... then, back to AC!!

It's been too hot here too, but we got a break this week. This morning it is 62 degrees at dawn, and I have the windows open! I'm working on the binding on Lemon Twist, and it is great to have the cool breeze with a quilt in my lap - in August!

For sure that looks like a sunflower growing taller than the house! A little here and a little there and you will eventually get them all done;) We are looking at a bit more rain today and humidity galore, so tired of that,

Your cross stich sunflower perfectly mimics its garden cousin! A little bit of everything creative sounds like a heavenly week to me!

The sunflower on your Old Crow Saltbox is perfect for August. I understand about the “too hot to quilt!” I was glad to be in the air conditioned Golf Club on Thursday while stitching the binding down on the heart quilt. I’ve misplaced my sunflower alphabet sampler from Melisa. I’ll find it eventually!

August and September are the perfect months for sunflower stitching! I get it about it being too hot to quilt too! You are wise to have a variety of projects to work on depending on your fancy and the weather!

I am enjoying watching your two cross-stitch projects grow. I like the cherries and the sunflower. Your orange peel quilting is looking great! I hope you have some cooler weather.

Oh yes much too hot to have a quilt on your lap! I do love sunflowers such happy flowers. The weather has been so dry in the south of England and with lots of hosepipe bans in place it’s difficult to keep anything alive!

I love that saltbox house and the sunflower is so fun. Yes, hot weather with no AC makes quilting difficult. Hope it cools down a bit for you.

You find such cute cross stitch projects! Of course I love the sunflower, both in your garden and in your stitching. It has been crazy hot here this summer, definitely not made for quilts on laps!

I like the way you work — here and there. I often jump around my various projects. Your sunflower x stitch is great. It looks much like the picture you shared (hm, don’t know if it was this post or one of your earlier or later posts.). I’m in awe of your ability to do counted cross stitch. Even with the big canvas of the project bag I’m working on I still end up taking out as many stitches as I put in. Hope you are having some cooler weather. If you are it will definitely come east in a few days. Right now it’s hot with ridiculous humidity. Have a great weekend.
