I Like Thursday #411

I voted!  So thankful that we have this right in our country.

Younger son has been into bread baking recently, and made some delicious rye bread over the weekend.  It's an old recipe that my mom discovered back in the 70s, I think.  Besides rye flour, it also has cocoa and molasses in it.  It is really yummy!

I finished up the sunflower embroidery for my Fall Fortnight mini quilt.  Isn't it sweet?

The next step is to add the first border around the center, and sew the flying geese border together.  It's coming along!

LeeAnna's question of the week is about haunted houses and scary movies.  Do we like them?  No!!!  Lol!  I have crazy enough dreams without adding extra content to them.  I do remember there being some kind of haunted house ride at Disneyland that was fun - in a kid-like way.  Younger son loves horror movies and watches them all the time - he even participated in an online challenge to watch 100 scary movies and document them last year!  I'm glad I don't have to watch with him!  😜

Happy Thursday, friends!  Joining in with I Like Thursday at Not Afraid of Color.

That bread looks yummy. That center block looks great with the sunflowers. Thank you for voting! I'm bringing my ballot to the box today.

Your mini is really coming together. I don't like scary movies either, but my brother did. My mom would make be stay up with him so he could watch scary movies in the basement as I'm the oldest and he's the youngest. Needless to say, it wasn't my idea of a good time.

Seems lots of us are on the same page about scary movies! Ick! Wow, that bread looks amazing. I am not a yeast bread baker, but like quick bread! Pumpkin, banana, zucchini, all those. Your sunflower Fall Fortnight project is looking good! I really liked your sticker for voting! Ours are so ordinary!

Yay for voting (my younger self would never believe it would be something I'd *want* to do) - and that's quite a lovely sticker. Interesting bread - not a combo I've heard of before. Love your sunflowers.

I have no interest in Haunted houses or scary movies - they never have interested me - the bread sounds great!

I, too, like rye bread--and I love molasses--and of course--cocoa--so you might need to publish that recipe or have your son send me some!!! And I love how you are finishing off Melisa's block--

Doesn't it feel good to have the voting done early? The bread sounds delish. I made pumpkin bread this week. Your sunflower block turned out so cute. The Haunted House was my favorite at Disney. When I was "little", it took an E ticket.

That bread looks delicious! Cocoa with molasses. . .what an interesting combination! Your finished sunflower piece looks terrific. We too have voted. It is good to exercise our right!

I don't like horror, blood and gore, but I do enjoy psychological thrillers, movies that give you the creeps. A favorite for this time of year is The Skeleton Key. I think that cocoa and molasses are in the wonderful brown bread at Outback Steakhouse. Your sunflower embroidery is wonderful, can't wait to see your finished piece.

I love baking bread, and this rye bread sounds very interesting! I don't think I could stand a 100 day steady diet of horror! :)
