Wow! My 222nd week of sharing all the things I've found to like with LeeAnna and friends at Not Afraid of Color for "I Like Thursday." That's over four years! It's been a fun way to share things on my quilting blog that aren't always about quilting, plus make some new blogging friends. Thanks for sticking with me all this time!
I like Girl Scout cookie time, because...
So, I found a way to get a couple boxes of my favorite variety.
Unfortunately, this happened...
All gone.
We needed to get out of the house yesterday, so we went for a little drive and ended up at a favorite natural area with a picnic lunch to eat in the car. It was cold outside, but the sun warmed the car up and the view was pretty!
We didn't have the good camera, but we did have the good binoculars, and we saw geese, several kinds of ducks, gulls, and even some eagles!
We watched two interesting movies on Netflix this last week, both based on true stories.
"The Dig" "On the eve of World War II, a British widow hires a self-taught archaeologist to dig up mysterious formations on her land, leading to a staggering find." (Netflix)
And "Penguin Bloom" "Samantha Bloom breaks her back in an accident and is paralysed from the chest down. A year later, her children bring home an injured magpie they have found. She cautiously approaches the magpie and begins to get acquainted with the new family member." (Wikipedia)
Penguin isn't a penguin, but she is a bird!
I like getting out my quilty February things, especially this one. I have to share it because Judy's been making one of these little runners, too, and it's one of my favorite designs!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh! I love your I Heart You mini! Thanks too for the movie recommendations! We’ve seen Dig on the list, but haven’t watched it!
I used to have a neighborhood Girl Scout, but she in college now, so no cookies purchased for a couple of years, I miss Thin Mints!
I agree, that finding friends through blogging is the very best. Happy Thursday!
Thin Mints are best straight out of the freezer!
Can't have GSCs in the house, they don't last a minute, LOL!! The Dig was good. If you haven't seen Lupin, or Virgin River, highly recommend both.
So glad you shared that heart mini! It's a perfect fit on that chest. Sorry your cookies are gone - lol! It has been years since I had a Thin Mint, looks so good.
My Girl Scout cookie box looks like that, too! I wonder if they have extras? :) Have a great day!
Thin mints are wonderful I do love them - but usually only see kids selling them in front of the stores now and then and most times I miss them - I don't know how they are selling them this year with the pandemic. Both movies look good I will check them out and see if they are something I would like.
Lunch at a park - even in the car sounds good to me - but hubby hates to have to eat in the car
Penguin Bloom sounds like a really good movie for this household. We'll have to check it out. We're cold here too but no sunshine for solar heating. Darn it!
PS Poor Mickey Haller was just beat up in "The Law of Innocence". Thought you'd like an update on my slow-reading! Ha!
I think your heart runner was the reason I made mine! I love having it out this month too.
That is a fabulous table runner! So cute!
Sorry to see you ate all of your Girl Scout cookies already, Diann. :o((
LOVE that darling little runner for Valentine's Day!
What?? You opened your Thin Mints only to find an empty box?? (heh heh) Is it just me, or have those boxes shrunk? I haven't ordered any for a few years and they look smaller. We watched The Dig, too, and found it interesting, if a bit slow. I'll have to check out the other movie, sounds like a good one. That little heart runner is so fun!
We also watched "the Dig" and "Penguin Bloom" last week and thoroughly enjoyed both. The picnic lunch at the lake sounds wonderful. I go back and forth about whether taking photos of what I see of just filing it in my memory is better. I think I enjoy it more if I experience it in the "now." Your heart topper is lovely.
Wonderful likes! I gave our GS cookies to my neighbor who's been shoveling for me. I'm interested in the The dig and may check out the Penguin Bloom movie too. Thanks for the reference! Have a wonderful day! Stay safe!
Hey, your view from lunch yesterday looks very similar to mine! We took a ride too and had our lunch by a lake. LOL I think there just "might" be one of those soggy messes in the fridge right now, or DH may have pitched it already. Funny, but I've never been a fan of Girl Scout cookies.
Our Girl Scout cookies haven't been delivered yet. But when they are, my husband will polish his share off immediately. I hoard mine. One year I put a box of thin mints in the cupboard and when I went to get them out months later, I discovered an empty box. Never could figure out why he didn't just discard the box. Your hearts remind me of the Russian dolls.

Hi Diann! Wow, over four years of finding the positive side of life is just fabulous. Hmm, salad versus GS cookies. That's not a tough choice, is it?! I adore your little Valentine project which is similar to Judy's! So cute and perfect for the season. ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh love your heart mini. Four years! How great is that? Girl Scout cookies. I had box that sat on the counter for over a year, in plain sight. LOL Drove my daughter crazy.
LOL. I need to get myself some cookies! We liked the Dig, too. I like your table topper. Cute!
