Good morning! I'm checking in with Chris and friends at Chrisknits to share my to-do list for the week.
Slow, but steady progress is being made on my plus blocks.
As I've seen other quilters' design ideas, I look at mine, and wonder, "What if...?" Like this:
I'm getting low on my background fabrics, but have bigger pieces of the different reds left, so maybe I'll add a few of those reversed blocks in to the mix.
I'm also thinking about adding a border after I get to 30 of the plus blocks.
I did get caught up on my June purple row for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Full Stop sampler, and also got started on the July blue blocks. I'm completely out of the background fabric for this project, and it's on order from Missouri Star. Now, if they would just ship it!
My Table Scraps projects for July are finished and you can read about them here!
On my list for the coming week:
- Keep going on those plus blocks!
- Finish a small embroidered wall-hanging and get it ready to send away.
- Maybe my background fabric will arrive for the Full Stop row - if it does, I'll work on that!
Have a great week, everyone!
Your Positivity blocks are wonderful. Love the red & white theme.
ReplyDeleteI like the unexpected background switch on your positivity quilt! It is really neat! Always love your table scraps projects! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, add in some reversed plus blocks. They will look great. And a border is also a great idea. :) If you think about people who are choosing the quilt for a loved one, more traditional is not a bad idea. Table scraps looks like a fun project, too!
ReplyDeleteThe positivity blocks are looking great.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your red and white Positivity quilt. 30 blocks + a border sound great.
ReplyDeleteYou get so much done! I need a nap now.
ReplyDeleteI think the plus block with the darker background is a fun change, but either way looks nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the mixed background pieces I think that always adds interest in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!I I like the pop of red background. There seems to be no right or wrong way with this design! Preeti did a great job design a versatile quilt with tons of options! I like the reds a lot!!
ReplyDeleteThat is certainly one of the fun things about the pos quilt--so many dif options to play with! I think the pop of interest is a great idea but it's going to look good either way.
ReplyDeletePositively Red? I guess I should have seen that one coming, Diann. LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteIf you have more reds what if you made the very center block with the neutral background and then surrounded it with red blocks? Whatever you decide it is going to look great!
ReplyDeleteYes to the reverse plus blocks. Running out of background fabric is never fun. That is why I ordered a bolt of white solid. I do like textured backgrounds, though, and am always sad when a favorite goes out of print and out of stock. . Good that you were able to order more. The positivity plus blocks are really starting to call to me but I have sew many projects in the works that I am trying to resist. Looking forward to seeing more of yours … :) Pat
ReplyDeleteI love where you are going with that positivity quilt! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are making great progress on your Poz blocks, and I like the idea of the reverse (even just one would be kinda fun). Hope your order gets to you soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your goals and what a great idea to switch up the reds/creams. Thanks for linking up with To-Do Tuesday!
