Did you see some fireworks on the 4th of July? Our city does a great job with their show! Mike and I and younger son walked down to the high school lawn to sit and watch them.
There weren't any fireworks in my stitching this week, but there's kind of a red, white, and blue theme going on.
I first worked on the July design for Kathy Schmitz's Woven Wreaths project and stitched up the sweet bird!
I also finished Melisa's Watermelon Stamp. I think last week when I shared it, the only parts left were the sunflowers and the bees, so that was a quick finish.
And I started two new things - well, one continues the Year of Hearts project that I've been working on since January. A watering can full of flowers - so fun!
For stitching on the 4th, I decided to start the Mini Flag Sampler from PinkernPunkin. I haven't gotten very far on the flag, but I'll just keep going on it as a July project.
The only thing I didn't touch this week is the hand-pieced Hollow 9 patch quilt block that I shared last week. I'll keep that one on my list for the coming week!

ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to walk to a fireworks display. All your needlework looks so pretty! Like you I'm still finishing up a Fourth of July project and hope to get it done today.
ReplyDeleteWe went to an indoor concert Thursday evening and came right home, rather than going into Zion for the fireworks. But the neighborhood was popping with them until 11 p.m. and the smell hung heavy the next day!
ReplyDeleteWe had T storms roll through on the 4th so they postponed the fireworks for Friday night. We had the grandsons that night so it worked out great to take them to the fireworks. We go early for a good spot and we play cards while we wait for darkness to come. Love seeing your progress on your hand stitching.

ReplyDeletethat is so nice to be able to walk to a point on sidewalks to watch the fireworks! I saw a few from the porch but not many. Living in the country I would need to drive 15 miles to town and then drive around for 5-10 to find a spot to park and then another 5 minutes or more to walk to the area where you could possible find a spot to sit! The neighbors across the road put some off and if they went high enough over the trees we could see them. It was to hot to bother to go anywhere
ReplyDeleteWe had fireworks on our lake. After our bedtime so we opted not to go out on the neighbor's pontoon. Instead, I enjoyed the booms and bright lights from my bed. No stitching here.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fireworks. How great you could walk to see them. Living in the countryside, fireworks started a few days before and have continued. Our poor dog finds the big booms upsetting. It seems the booms are what people want and not the colored graphics. Your stitching looks terrific.

Wonderful fireworks photo, good ones are hard to take. We watched the fireworks from afar, it was way to hot to spend the afternoon and early evening sitting outside. The watermelon stamp is really cute. Your patriotic sampler is really cute too. Hope you got in lots of slow stitching this week.
