To-Do Tuesday #165

It's been a week of this and that again - I'm having a hard time settling on one thing to work on and end up making a few blocks for one thing and a few blocks for another.  This photo of my cutting table is a good illustration of how the week has gone!

Blue fabrics pulled for a January blog hop, a pile of scrappy 4 patches, HSTs waiting to be trimmed for the next Arizona block, a smallish table mat out of holiday prints that needs binding attached, various other piles of fabric and miscellaneous tools.  Sigh...
It would probably be a good idea to make an actual list of what I need to work on in order of priority!

Meanwhile I did finish the gift for my quilt group's holiday get together last week - you can read about it here.

And, wonder of wonders, Sunday afternoon I was able to get the Bloom quilt sandwiched and ready for quilting!  Even though I have other responsibilities that should come first, that is what I really want to work on.

We're expecting a snow storm to come in overnight, so I bet there'll be some good sewing days this week.  Maybe I can get things a little more under control!

I'm joining in with To-Do Tuesday hosted by Linda at Texas Quilt Gal.

  1. I am glad I am not alone...this is what it has been like for me for a few weeks, just jumping around from one thing to the next amongst the daily living grind. Love your basket quilt, such happy colours.

  2. Glad you're gaining some ground on Baskets of Blooms while still getting the must-dos done. Keep up the good work!

  3. Looking forward to seeing Blooms finished. My whole house looks like your cutting table! I keep hand stitching in the family room, I trim pieces at the kitchen counter, I measure tops and backs on the pool table (easier than the floor), retreat supplies are staged in the guest room, quilt mags by the bedside ...

  4. I love your Bloom quilt my cutting table is a mess sometimes. I still have not gotten around to most of the Xmas panels that I was to use for pillows or something and they are still waiting for me to stitch while I concentrate on finishing just one RSC quilt at this rate I guess they will be for Xmas next year!

  5. Sometimes you just have to work on what moves you! You really ramped it up with Blooms - that will be a fun finish. Thank you for sharing with To Do Tuesday!

  6. I think that it's such a busy time that we can all get a little like that! Maybe the time for "settling in" on a project is after the holidays? and for now just go with the flow and enjoy the season? Your baskets are so cheery!

  7. Looks like you have made a good start on your various projects! Small steps will get you there! I’ve got my fingers crossed for “not huge snowstorm “ for you, and Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota! Hope my peeps are all safe! I’m anxious to see your Baskets all done and the Arizona project, too!

  11. You wouldn't believe the amount of work in progress that usually are on my cutting table. You are super organized.
Bloom will be a beautiful quilt, I'm sure.

  12. Hi Diann! A this-and-that-type of week sounds fun to me. Work on one project until you flit to the next - I've been doing a bit of that myself. The Bloom quilt is so pretty! I say, if you feel like working on it, then DO IT! Oh yes, there's a huge storm heading your way. Stay safe and sew on whatever your heart desires. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  15. Sometimes we lose focus, and sometimes we thrive in those situations. May you find your "tipping" point!
