To-Do Tuesday #101

Good morning!  I'm checking in with Chris and friends at Chrisknits to share my to-do list for the week.

I did get a few things accomplished in the last week!  I'm very happy to have finished the last red plus blocks for my Positivity quilt.

I also finished up this month's Table Scraps placemat and a few other aqua blocks - the crumb hearts!

Progress is also being made on the September blog hop project.  Sorry, no sneak peeks this week!

So, for this week... I'm going to put a few things on the list, but not expect a lot to get done.  It's my mom's 90th birthday on Saturday, and in an ideal world we'd be having a party.  But Mom is still at the rehab center, and they're in a Covid quarantine because of a positive case, so we can't even see her.  And, in the meantime, we may be moving her into an assisted living building because she's needing more help these days.

So, you can see why I might not get much done in the sewing room this week!  Hopefully, I can get a little something accomplished, though.
  • Get the plus blocks into a flimsy.
  • Keep working on aqua blocks for Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects.
  • Continue to make progress on my September blog hop project.
Fingers crossed for a little sewing time!

  2. so soon after moving your mom to Colorado and now to have to maybe move her again, that is sad but yes sometimes at 90 you just really do need help. I hope she will be ok with move if it is indeed needed. Sorry you can't be with her today for her birthday

  3. Your Positivity quilt looks great, Diann! Happy birthday and best wishes to your mom, whether she's able to stay where she is or has to move again. She is so blessed to have a daughter like you looking out for her.

  8. I'm so sorry to hear about yet another transition for your mom - and you, too. I'm very sorry that you won't be able to celebrate her birthday with her - but do give her happy birthday greetings from me when you are able to do so! Your Poz quilt is looking great!

  9. How disappointing not to be able to have a party for your Mom's 90th birthday (or even get to visit her). It's so frustrating that we seem to be moving backward instead of making progress. Hopefully you can get her settled in a safe and caring place, where you won't have to worry as much as if she were alone. Do what you can, when you can. It will all be waiting for you when you finally have time.

  10. Those red Positivity blocks with the cream pluses look awesome inside the cream blocks with the red pluses. And your aqua scrap blocks are just wonderful!

  11. Will Mom be in the same complex? I think it's so smart to have all levels of care available in one place. My dad was able to go from a high-rise apartment to assisted living, and on to full nursing care and never left the property. Sorry you can't celebrate her 90th in style.
