It is always the best fun, at the beginning of a month, to hunt around in my stash and see what I can do with the new color for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! This month is no exception, and it wasn't long before I had eight purple trees ready to add to the jungle.
This is what's still on the cutting table after making the trees - next I'll see how many HSTs I can get out of these scraps for the purple zigzag row. After that 4 patches and Easy Breezy blocks! It's been awhile since I put the whole jungle up on my design wall, so I had fun doing that this week, too.56 blocks so far! Red and yellow are still to come, and I think they will add the perfect balance to the rest of the colors!Linking up with all the Rainbow Scrap Quilters at SoScrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday.
This is such a fun and happy quilt! Love the purple forest!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Forest, all the blocks are lovely together 👍😉😍
ReplyDeleteI love your trees! I think next year I need to pick out a really easy pattern for my RSC and something that might use a lot of bigger pieces then what I am doing this year - something to use more of the scraps up
ReplyDeleteNice that you were able to get your purple trees done. I love seeing them all together!
ReplyDeleteThe jungle is looking great! Why can I see some monkey's hanging in the trees? Active imagination this morning I guess!
ReplyDeletevery nice altogether - great job
ReplyDeleteSuper cute PURPLE trees to be added to your Rainbow Jungle, Diann!!
ReplyDeleteSuper Purple additions to your Jungle. It’s looking great!
ReplyDeleteyour christmas trees are great! i love the colors, the vibe, and the brightness! i tried those for my RSC project a couple years ago, and ended up not loving it. Mari (academic quilter) ended up adopting the blocks and finished a quilt- so at least they got used and aren't languishing in a drawer! can't wait to see the reds and yellows!
ReplyDeleteI really like the combination of purple and yellow. Great looking collection so far.
ReplyDeleteNice pile of scraps left to play with. Your purple forest is really getting dense! 😁
ReplyDeleteCute tree blocks :) I worked with some purple scraps yesterday.. made 1 pocket prayer..lots more purple scraps left, but don't know if I'll get to them.. maybe my goal for today will be to use them to make a couple of key fobs :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cheerful happy forest! And what a great idea, to cut your scraps for several quilts at once.
ReplyDeleteThe purple trees are so cool! All of them on the design wall is wonderful. I’m anxious to get to the reds and yellows too.
ReplyDeleteQuite the colorful forest! Nice to reuse those leftovers rightaway, too. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteYou have a happy little forest growing! (You really should have a penguin tree in there, if there isn't one already . . .)
ReplyDeletewow what a riot of color. These are just terrific together Diann!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year for RSC and I have a very simple project. I so love these trees that I may do that next year! This year I can only handle the one.
ReplyDeleteYour Rainbow Jungle is growing like crazy! This will be such a happy little quilt. Someone asked about monkeys? Then there are the lions, the snakes, elephants and antelopes too.
ReplyDeleteThey're coming along really well Diann. I love these tree blocks whatever their colours.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a good system to use your scraps up by sewing the blocks in that order. Smart! Your little trees are just so cute and fun :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a very vibrant jungle that you've got in the works. Sounds like you are doing well at using up a good bit of scraps this year.
