Scrappy Embroidered Pouch

Last Sunday I shared the bicycle I'd been working on out of Gail Pan's Patchwork Loves Embroidery Too.  This week I finished up the rest of the embroidery!

I love the basket of flowers and the little bird!

In the book, this is turned into a little pouch for keeping sewing supplies in, and that's what I've been working on the last couple days.


I decided to use the scraps from the zipper pouch I finished a few weeks ago to make the patchwork part of the pouch.


After layering the front and backing with some batting (these pieces are about a fat eighth size), the next step is to add some hand-quilting to the fabric areas.  I've marked a grid to quilt with Ecru perle cotton thread, size 8, and that's what I'll be working on today!

    I love this. I am loving see your embroidery and every time I do I want to go grab mine and get back to it. Then I think hmmm just where is it? Because of the renovations, and so I leave it again...

    How pretty your bicycle pretty is. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all get on our bicycles, with flowers in the basket and little birdies chirping freely; and go for a lovely bike ride in the park.
