This month's block is inspired by the Baltimore Oriole, a beautiful orange bird with black and white wings and head. Since I've been making all of my blocks in a monochromatic color scheme, I looked around for three different oranges to use for March. And here's how it turned out!
And all three blocks so far.
Oooh, loving how these are looking.
ReplyDeletethe colors are all so bright and pretty it will make a cheerful quilt for sure
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning block and your points are so perfect!
ReplyDeletePlaying catch-up. I love your little embroidery!! it will be adorable. And oh my, your Oriole block!! True fact, I used to root for the Baltimore Orioles, favorite team for most of my teen years. Your block is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that bird and basket of flowers embroidery too!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are splendid and it is quite coincidental but I saw a Baltimore Oriole two days ago. It was singing in one tree for quite a while...long enough for me to remember the song and look it up after. I could see the coloured breast but didn't know if it was an orangy robin or not. We saw them frequently at the farm but this is the first sighting here.
Oh, I love all of these orange blocks! Sure makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteYou did well with finding fabrics with enough contrast, Diann. Nice work (and a deep stash!!)
ReplyDeleteCute and neatly made - best of both worlds!!!
