For this block, I wanted to fussy cut the square for the center, and then make the rest of the block from the two solid blues. And I like how it turned out!
Meet Bess!
I've also enjoyed getting to know Bess and the other characters from the Friendship Album, 1933 podcast this week as I've been sewing. Thank you, Frances O'Roark Dowell, for sharing your stories with us!
Here are my eight blocks on the design wall. Just one more before we can start putting them together!
Sharing at the Hand-Pieced QAL link-up at Elm Street Quilts.

ReplyDeleteI just pulled out my fabrics I am going to use to machine piece these blocks. But I think I am going to do 8 blocks and make a 2x4 layout to form a table runner. I am also being crazy and thinking to do a scalloped border, since it's been ages since I tried one. I love the fabric arrangement on your Bess!
ReplyDeleteI love all the creatures and colors in your blocks.! Only one more - yay!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing these hand-pieced blocks! I love hand piecing but haven’t done it in years.
