October means pumpkins!

And black cats!

This week I finished the October heart for my display stand.   It was one of my favorites to stitch last year, so I'm happy to have it ready to show this year!

When you finish a project, it means you can start something new, right?!  So I did start a new stitch, but just a little one.  This is Melisa's Pumpkin Crow design - it will be about 3 x 3 when finished.

You can see the pumpkin starting to form!

And I stitched the pumpkins on the Gail Pan piece, too!

It's been all pumpkins around here this week!

I do have to show the finished orange peel quilt one more time to my Sunday slow stitching friends - it was finished earlier in the week, but you may not have seen it.

Happy to have this one finished!

  1. It’s definitely pumpkin season! I bought some pumpkins for my front porch at the farmer’s market yesterday. Your stitched pumpkins are the perfect project for October. Gail at the cozy quilter

  12. Oh yes, if a project is finished it's mandatory to start another. Another lovely finish to display on your welcoming table. That black cat is cute, as is the cross stitch feline pretty. Orange Peel is beautiful. You have such a lovely array of pretties to display for any given season ....celebration, Diann.

  14. Do you know what pumpkins mean to me? Cooking up pumpkin soup, so yummy. My adult granddaughter has been baking up some pumpkin pies, it is not really a thing here. We had a Canadian friend who invited us around to dinner some years ago and served pumpkin pie for dessert, it was heavenly!

  15. I so enjoy your vignettes! Do you store them as a group ("Pumpkins" "Strawberries") or by type ("hangings" "runners")?
