Happy June 1st! It's time to get out the Woven Wreaths project and stitch the June design.
I've been spending lots of time with my watering can the last couple weeks, as I got the garden and pots planted. These are the dianthus that over-wintered in their pots and surprised me by sprouting again back in late April/early May. They're pretty happy now!
This project will be halfway finished after I stitch the little watering can and its flowers. In her video, Kathy said they were meant to represent Queen Anne's Lace, which I have always loved seeing growing wild.
I'll be slowly stitching on this today, and linking up at Kathy's Quilts!
Very pretty dianthus! Those are so hard to photograph because that pink red is so saturated. Enjoy your slow stitching today.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty design to stitch. I have a painted watering can that I use as garden art.
ReplyDeleteMy dianthus is planted right into the ground and come back every year. How exactly did you winter yours over in the pot?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise on the "diann-thus"! Your woven wreaths are so pretty. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy June! Your stitching is looking good!
ReplyDeleteYour watering can stitchery and your garden shot of a watering can. . .so interesting how similar to each other each is!!! Have an enjoyable day slow stitching!!
ReplyDeleteYour dianthus is so pretty. Enjoy stitching that pretty watering can.
ReplyDeleteI just love the watering can block, Diann; it looks like it will be a delightful stitch . Your quilt looks fabulous in the garden with your beautiful pot of dianthus. I had to smile when I saw your embroidery for the day because my upcoming heart block is going to have a watering can in it. I guess it is just that season. Lol. Happy stitching. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t take the time to watch Kathy’s video on the June Watering Can! I need to maybe get to that today! Your dianthus look great. Did you overwinter them outside or in shelter? I’m leaning to perennials these days. But not sure how well they do in pots! I have a couple of friends who are Master Gardeners. Guess I should pick their brains!
ReplyDeleteI think I am several months behind on Woven Wreaths. Think I will get caught up before I pick up anything else. Your dianthus is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - the flowers and the embroidery. I somehow pictured the piece was bigger than it looks. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteIt was a sleepy start to June since the month began with a Saturday. But not for you. Clearly you started June with all projects blazing :-) Stay cool, Diann.
ReplyDeleteWow on your over-wintered dianthus!!! Where do you keep them in the winter? I bring my pot of geraniums in every fall and put them in the longarm window. They keep blooming all winter.
ReplyDeleteBlue-and-white is such a nice combination. Good for you on the overwintered dianthus!
ReplyDeleteI do like your blue Woven Wreaths project, so pretty.
