I Like Thursday #374

After enjoying warmer temperatures and even a couple rounds of golf last week, the wintry weather came back over the weekend.  We had an odd day of rain, sleet, and snow which combined overnight into a frozen landscape.  I guess I do have to remember that it's still winter!

It was good couple of days for reading a page-turner of a thriller, which is exactly what I did.  I thought this was a good story, although there are some difficult parts.  It did make me think - what would it be like if a family I thought I knew pretty well just disappeared?

We also just recently got a subscription to Apple TV + and the first thing we watched was "Ted Lasso," and loved it.  You do have to decide to ignore the use of the F word and pay attention to the story - which we did and got really attached to the characters and storylines.

Next we tried an episode of "Lessons in Chemistry" which is based on a book which I loved, and it seems pretty good so far, too.

Aren't these owls cute?  I'm putting together one more set of the cases for Carole's Safelight program at From My Carolina Home.  I thought the owls and dot fabric were a fun combination!

I'm finishing these up and will get them in the mail
at the beginning of next week.

LeeAnna's question of the week is would we prefer chocolate or flowers for Valentine's Day?  And my answer is... both!  Although I will most likely get neither, lol!  We don't give each other a lot of gifts, but opt for planning fun outings together instead.  I have to share, though, that Mike does make sure I am pretty well stocked up with chocolate.  My favorite is this inexpensive dark chocolate bar from Walmart -

Yum!

Hope you're having a great week!  Thanks for visiting on I Like Thursday hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.

  2. We loved Ted Lasso too, loved the characters, and I fell in love with Keeley (Juno Temple). We recently watched her in Fargo, Season 5, and she was wonderful in that too. She had a Minnesota accent in that one! I can't have a candy bar around or I will eat it all in one sitting. :(

  3. thanks for the suggestion on the book I went ahead and put it on hold at the library I haven't watched Ted Lasso but might need to I have heard so much of it. The candy bar would be eaten quickly by me for sure - I love dark chocolate

  4. The freezing rain stuff is the worst. The weather is always weird in February, it can be 6 in the morning and freezing by 5 PM. That owl fabric is really fun, makes a very cute case. I usually get flowers for Valentine's Day from My Guy (when he remembers). I have to buy my own chocolate, which I should do before the good stuff is gone.

  5. I loved Ted Lasso as well. It was so refreshing to see a loving, got-your-back kind of relationship between the two female characters.

  7. I loved Ted Lasso. Someone told me I should watch it again, because I'll catch little things you miss the first time through. I didn't love "Lessons in Chemistry" - but if they stick to the book, it would be a terrific show. I may have to watch that. Those owls are cute. Chocolate is always a lovely thing. :-)

  8. I've read all the Rosato & Associates mystery series by Lisa Scottoline, but have only read a few of her stand alone titles. I currently don't have cable or streaming, so I haven't watched anything lately.
And I don't really miss it.
