Good morning, friends! I'm joining in with To-Do Tuesday hosted by Linda at Texas Quilt Gal. This is Linda's last week hosting To-Do Tuesday - thank you, Linda, it's been fun at your place!
I hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend, however you spent it. It was quiet at our house due to the wintry weather, so I actually sewed!
My main focus has been to get Bloom quilted and binding ready to sew on. ✅️. Done!
In fact, the binding is machine stitched down and ready for the final hand stitching step.
My goal is a finished quilt to post about by the end of the week.
Also, the two projects with January deadlines have been moved along. Pieces for the third Arizona block are ready to sew together, which I'm planning to do this afternoon. ✅️ Progress!
Next steps for the coming week:
- Finish binding on Bloom.
- Continue construction of January tablerunner projects. The above blocks will need some kind of sashing and a final border before being ready to finish into a runner.
- The other January project is the blue and white strips I've shown in previous Tuesday posts. They make 10.5 inch blocks - one is sewn together, two more are ready to be. I didn't get a picture of them this week.
There's always plenty to do around here! Have a great final week of 2022, everyone!
I guess snow has some advantages when it leads to some sewing being done. Love the colours on your Arizona blocks. All the best with finishing the binding on Bloom.
ReplyDeleteYou have been staying busy ,Diann. I love the soft colors in the blocks. Wishing you a very productive week binding Bloom.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you are well with the snow storm and sewing. The TV News are scary. The Arizona blocks will be beautiful on a table runner. Happy quilting during the last week of 2022.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to be able to sew in the quiet week between Christmas and the New Year.
ReplyDeleteThat Arizona block is growing on me. I think I'll do that for RSC next year. How big is yours?
ReplyDeleteI love hand sewing the binding down! Those Arizona blocks are pretty. Enjoy your time between Christmas and New Years!
ReplyDeletelove the Bloom quilt. It is nice to have Christmas past now I think and can enjoy the quite of this week with decorations still out before things get put away again.
ReplyDeleteHurray for some slow binding time this week. I see another storm in the future. Lots of rain here last night! This area is in desperate need of moisture. So,though dreary, we will accept the wet with gratitude.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Arizona blocks this week. It will be a great gift!
Your Bloom quilt looks so bright and pretty. I'm looking forward to see the whole thing finished. (Do you have a quilt holder?) Those Arizona blocks really are nice -- but lots of little pieces or so it looks to me. I'm still trying to decide on a block to make for RSC. Decision time is coming soon.
ReplyDeletePretty Arizona blocks. Bad weather is always a good reason to stay inside and quilt! Can't wait to see the Bloom quilt finished. Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteI always feel like I got a 'free' day when something doesn't happen like it is supposed to and I get to sew all day, LOL. You made great progress:)
ReplyDeleteDidn't your Mom used to live in AZ? Are you making it for her? Yay on your progress on Bloom! There is something really cozy about sewing in your room during cold weather. Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday, and Happy New Year!
