Good morning and happy Tuesday! It's To-Do Tuesday at Texas Quilt Gal - thanks, Linda for hosting this fun link-up each week!
On last week's list, I was hoping to get the Crumb Hearts quilt sandwiched for quilting, and I did accomplish that, and even got in a few rows of quilting.
You probably can't see any of the quilting stitches, but I can definitely
assure you that I did some quilting on this already, lol!
A second Covered in Love Disappearing 9 Patch block was sewn, too. This time I added in a red square, and I really like that combination!
I also finished up July's Table Scraps project, my post about it is here.
For this week's list, I'm really trying to stay on task - no squirrels allowed in my sewing room!
- Keep working on the Crumb Hearts quilting
- Another CiL block? (if I can get four 7.5 in squares out of my scraps in the desired colors...)
- Quilt older son's tabletopper - backing is ready, but I haven't sandwiched the layers together.
I have two seasonal projects on my mind that I'd like to make some progress on in the coming weeks, so I'm going to add them to the *coming up* list.
#1: My Autumn Jubilee top from last fall. I'd like to have this done by October. The first step is to figure out a backing for it. I'm going to use the leftover fabric to piece the backing.
#2: The Frosties need to be made into a quilt top. First step is to trim them so that they're all the same size. I also need to find a fabric for sashing and borders. I'm sure *just the right one* is out there somewhere!
By breaking these two down into first steps, I hope to make some progress with them, and have them completed for the coming holiday seasons!
Have a great week, everyone!
Looks like there will be great finishes on your way. Frosty blocks are so cute, I am sure you will find the perfect fabric for sashing them.
ReplyDeleteHabe a nice week, Diann and happy stitching.
The red blocks really make your D9P block pop. I am sure you will have no problem moving all your projects forward this week.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of your Disappearing Nine Patch - why have I never made that one - what size blocks do you start with before you start cutting?
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to do a couple of blocks for CiL. But my "solids" are lacking. I considered ordering some Grunge! I love it, but did not get it done. Maybe just maybe, I can get a few blocks done before the end of August. I did remember I have some solids in a different drawer!! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI love Crumb Hearts so much. Your disappearing nine-patch blocks look like fun. What a great idea to work on Autumn Jubilee and have it all ready. Maybe it will make it seem cooler to think about fall. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at To Do Tuesday!
It will come as no surprise that I zeroed right in on the Autumn Jubilee topper! Love, love. You should finish that puppy right up and your table will be sooo cheery and ready for fall!
ReplyDeleteYou've made a lot of Frosties! Wow! (Oh, I do love snowmen!!)
I love the disappearing 9-patch blocks too! I've got the 2021 Autumn Jubilee on my radar also to finish up. As you already know, I'm working on my Frosties so it's like we're quilting together! *wink*
ReplyDeleteThe disappearing 9-patch blocks are so fun! You are thinking ahead on your to-do list, with a fall project and a winter project. I'm sure you'll find just the right fabric for your snowmen - the hunt is the fun part!
ReplyDeleteSew much cuteness in this post, Diann. Lots of eye candy. I had forgot how the disappearing 9 patch looks- it is a cute block. Eeeh I love your Frosties. I was thinking about them yesterday. I do need to start quilting mine. Have a wonderful week. Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteI remembered that Autumn Jubilee piece and loved it. How great to get it all finished now. Loads of good stuff to see here always, Diann.
ReplyDeleteHi Diann! Oh boy, I can hardly wait to see what you come up with for the snowmen. I have been thinking about that project for a year now - it might make it on the list for this winter. It's a nice hand sewing project. You have plenty of time for Jubilee and what a gorgeous Fall feature that will be. Good luck with this week's list. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThose crumb hearts are so cute! Love the Autumn Jubilee, too.
