As soon as I discovered that purple was the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for July, I started cutting pieces for the hand-pieced plus blocks I'm making.
Two are completed and a third in progress. I've been making six each month.
35 of these blocks are made so far!
Every time I put these blocks up on the design wall, I mess up
the placement of one block. This time it's in the red row. Just one turned wrong and it messes up everything after that, lol! I'll have to be careful
when I start sewing groups of blocks together!
My lovely friend, Judy, of Busy Hands are Happy Hands, sent me a really handy wonder clip holder and pincushion this week. Isn't this a great addition to the slow stitching table next to my chair?
Thank you, Judy!
For today's slow stitching, I think I'll go back to some embroidery. This is Kathy Schmitz's May design for the One Stitch at a Time Club, called "Spring Steep." I just got this traced yesterday afternoon, and a few stitches started in the evening. I love the little tea cup full of flowers!

What a beautiful stitching pattern! That will be sweet stitched up. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteYour plus blocks are always so lovely Diann.
ReplyDeleteThe clip holder is perfect for your slow stitching corner.
Have a greats slow stiching day.
Could you show a close-up of the pincushion without some of the clips? I could really use something like that.
ReplyDeleteYes we need a closeup of the clip holder! I like seeing your progress on the plus blocks, so pretty in the rainbow of colors. And the little stitchin' will keep your hands busy for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love those quilt blocks and love the background - it adds such variety to the look.
ReplyDeleteThe Plus blocks are so sweet. I can sure see ME having a hard time keeping it all straight. Bet I'd have lots of visit from Jack! hahaha! Let's hope you do not.
ReplyDeleteThat teacup stitch is going to be so pretty. I like your plus signs. I can see the mistake. It is a good idea to take a photo before you start stitching these blocks together. Your slow stitching table helpers are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSo fun seeing your plus blocks! When I laid mine out, I had to keep saying "up, down" to remind myself how to orientate the blocks! It's easy to miss one. Oh - the wonder clips holder is perfect! I have to keep mine in a jar because Wilbs thinks they are delightfully fun to bat around the quilt room. You do such neat and tidy embroidery - I enjoy seeing what you are stitching up!
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome! I’m glad you are enjoying using the clip holder! I sure like mine! Love your newest Kathy S. Stitchery! And the name….Spring Steep, make me grin!
ReplyDeleteThose cute little plus blocks look great!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a handy way to keep the clips as you are using them. The plus blocks are looking great and your embroidery is very pretty.

ReplyDeleteJudy's gifts to you are lovely. LOVE your purple plus blocks. Love the little pink flower peeking out from the middle.
ReplyDeleteJudy is a sweetie - love that clip holder! I can't get over how pretty those colorful plus blocks look against the text background. You have quite a few accumulated. Hope you are enjoying this 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteThose plus signs make a great RSC. Easy to turn one upside down and get it out of sync!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift Judy made, Diann!! Enjoy!
