Since I was already finished with the blocks I needed to make for purple month, I've spent some time this week moving a couple projects along closer to a finish.
One of them involved this purple fabric that I've had in my stash since last fall. Purple with bats!
Turns out it was the perfect inspiration for piecing a backing for my Halloween version of the Autumn Jubilee quilt top. Carole at From My Carolina Home hosted a QAL for this design last October, and I'm hoping to finish it up for this coming October.
Looks like I'm moving in the right direction!
Everything in the backing is leftover from the front!
Meanwhile, progress is being made on quilting Crumb Hearts! I would estimate that it's about 2/3 quilted, so maybe a finish by the end of next week? First I need to figure out a binding for it.
Getting close!

Isn't that a pretty purple, and it made a nice backing! Can't wait to see crumb hearts and the binding you choose.
ReplyDeleteOh my I love how you pieced the backing for your Halloween quilt! I have lots of leftover pieces from when I trim gobs of runners and wall hangings. I am trying to do some pieced backings here and there in hopes of making that pile smaller:)

ReplyDeleteAt first I thought they were sharks. Yes, perfect backing for your little project. I have opened my purple scrap bin once and have done nothing. Seems like my interest in RSC wanes about this time every year.
