Since May didn't end until this past Tuesday, I figured I was well within the monthly color guidelines of sage and forest green if I finished up a few Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks at the very last minute. Two chandelier blocks and three Bloom baskets to add to the collections:
How perfect is it, then, that my PopStar quilt fits right into the new June colors of bright and dark blue? Thank you, Angela! 😊 Working on quilting and finishing up this project will fit right into my June plans.
That also means that there are scraps left from piecing PopStar that will be fun to use in my RSC blocks this month.
Since the sewing machine has been busy, I've just done some cutting and hand-piecing so far. Strips were cut for PopStar's binding and squares cut for a couple plus blocks. I did finish up a hexie flower and a dark blue plus block during my evening slow stitching time this week.
Lots more blue to work on this month!

I love it when the RSC color is something I'm already working on!
ReplyDeleteyour blue colors are great - how many hexies have you made now and do you know how you will use them?
ReplyDeletePopstar may be a Stashbuster out this month! Great projects in progress.
ReplyDeleteCute Popstar quilt! Good for you for planning to use up those scraps right away, too. Still love the baskets!
ReplyDeleteAlways fun when one project feeds another! Fun to see those little blue scraps evolve into blocks!
ReplyDeletePop Star looks amazing! I just love star blocks.
ReplyDeleteLove the dark blue hexie flower! I still need to make my green crossed canoe blocks... but I'll make the green and blue at the same time later today I think. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteNow you will have to do a blue gingham;) I'll have more patriotic for my blues I guess.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I deliberately pull a project in the Color of the Month, but it's especially sweet when Angela choose the color of something I'm already working on. Enjoy, Diann! Old month and new month blocks are looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely blue Pop star quilt! Good for you, working on it during blue month! Your basket blocks are great, as always. I must admit, I am sometimes as excited about the scraps from a quilt I'm finishing as I am about the quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Pop Star design looks rather special, looking forward to seeing this one evolve. The basket blocks are really pretty too, and as for those plus blocks, I've told you before, I'm sure, that I love them!
ReplyDeleteHow convenient for the blues! You have really been consistent with the hexies - can't wait to see what you do with them.
ReplyDeleteLove your chandelier blocks!!! I'd love to make some of those. Maybe next year for RSC. Neat basket blocks! And your pop star + RSC have collided for June! Very handy!!!
ReplyDeleteSerendipity that June is blue! Yay! It’s going to be so gorgeous! Good for you using slow stitching time foe blue plus blocks and the cutest hexie ever!
