After my fabric pull of greens earlier in the week...
I started cutting. So far I've just been focusing on the darker, forest greens. Sixteen 2.5 inch squares make a Masala Box block. These are 12.5 inch blocks.
One down, one to go!
Five 2.5 inch squares make a plus block. These are hand-pieced and turn out to be 6.5 x 8.5. I've been making six of these blocks every month, but for the greens, I'm thinking I'll stop at three for dark green, and make three more in brighter greens.
So, some progress in green, added to the design wall!
Lots more green sewing to come!

Looking great on the design wall! Love those Masala blocks... I have the pattern and think it might get some attention this month.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I know I've aid it before, but I love those Plus blocks.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great fabric pull. Those greens look so good against the text fabric - is there any color that doesn't? ;) I always love looking at your design wall!
ReplyDeleteYour design wall looks so happy and collorful, Diann. Two great blocks for the rainbow challenge. I love your plus blocks.
ReplyDeleteGood plan to make half of your blocks with the darker green and the other half with your lighter sage-y greens. Seeing your green blocks makes me want to go down and start sewing immediately, but it will have to wait until this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your blocks all together on the design wall. A wonderful preview of the finished quilts that are soon to come.
ReplyDeletelove all the color on your wall - those two look great and so colorful
ReplyDeleteYou got it together! I am a week behind! A couple of other projects were keeping me from getting started on green. Today we have company and it’s probably going to be nice enough to get started on yard cleanup. So probably no sewing/ or very little sewing today! The plus blocks are looking good. Marsala blocks too, are coming together!
ReplyDeleteLoving those black/white fabrics in your plus quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many awesome blocks going there.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are so fun! Now I’ve got an urge to do some plus blocks again!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat start to the green!

ReplyDeleteI've been making cross blocks too! And I love the Masala box block. I'm always looking for great ideas that use 2.5 inch squares.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks so far. I haven't even gotten my green scraps out yet. I need to do that soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your blocks with Oh Scrap!
Nice job getting those blocks made the first week! I've pulled my fabrics but that's as far as I've gotten. Sigh. It's nice to see the blocks with their friends.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your design wall. Each quilt is coming together so well and they will be beautiful. Great way to use up all those scraps.
