Good morning! I'm joining in with Linda and friends at Texas Quilt Gal for the To-Do Tuesday link-up, sharing what I've been working on and my new list for this coming week.
There are always weeks where the days fill up unexpectedly, and there isn't as much sewing time as we would like. That's kind of how my week went. One of my goals was to make progress on quilting Positivity, and I did, but no pictures to share of that today.
Another project on my list was to finish up the Pumpkin Patch embroidery project, and it is now finished! You can read more about it in my Sunday post, but here's a photo of it hanging on my holiday wall.
I also finished up a small scrappy rainbow project, read about it here. So maybe it was a better week than I thought!
Must dos this week:
- Keep going on the Positivity quilting!
- Get started cutting out a Christmas project that has a due date of December 9th. The fabric has been hanging out on my ironing board after pressing.
In the "hope to get to" category:
- I found some fabric for the backing of my rainbow trip around the world quilt, and hope to get it all prepped for hand quilting this week. It's a rainbow dot print, and I think it looks perfect for this quilt!
And, finally, in the "sometimes you have to make a mess to clean one up" category, there's this:
It's my solids drawer. I started cleaning it out and sorting: strings, smaller chunks, larger ones. I'd like to start doing something with these, but first I think I'd better get back to the "must dos" up there!
Wishing you lots of progress on your list this week!
Love your holiday hall, there are beautiful quilts there.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward for your new Christmas beauty.
Have fun organizing all your solid fabrics.
the wall looks beautiful with all the little quilts on it!
ReplyDeleteI love your design wall! So much eye candy and so inspirational. That rainbow dot is perfect! I'm doing some odd organizational things this morning, not even related to sewing, and I'm actually enjoying them. So I relate to cleaning and sorting. It's very satisfyng.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to To Do Tuesday!
Lovely finishes and what a sweet holiday wall you have going there. I also agree your rainbow dots is perfect backing. I also gave my sewing room a clean sweep on the weekend and you reminded me that I don't pay as much attention to solid colours like I should. I read somewhere that every quilt needs solids too. Happy Stitching, Diann.
ReplyDeleteI too, lone your wall of Holiday minis. That’s a great idea! I’m looking forward to seeing your Trips quilt all quilted. We sometimes have to sort and organize don’t we. We are contemplating new flooring in our downstairs after the sewer backup problem. Steve doesn’t want to even talk about my sewing room! He’s really reluctant to tackle moving all of “my stuff”! Hahaha! So I should probably get rid of my cupboard of ribbons, and scrapbooking stickers and paper and other junk, I'll never get to again! Sigh,!!
ReplyDeleteHi Diann! Even your "mess" looks fairly neat to me. HAHA! I love that collection of mini quilts. It's very welcoming! Yeah, the ironing board is "holding" some pieces for a project here, too. At least it isn't being used as a clothes horse, right?! There's almost always another week for to-dos, and good luck with yours! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI *almost* started one of those messes to clean up another mess but then thought better of it. LOL. I think that kind of activity will just have to wait for after the holidays--tho I do actually enjoy organizing. Your quilt wall looks very fun!
ReplyDeleteYour holiday wall looks so nice, with such a variety of minis. I like each one! Perfect backing for your rainbow quilt, too! I need to get moving on my Christmas project, too! Cleaning up those scrap drawers is dangerous - squirrels like those drawers!
ReplyDeleteI love your holiday wall! It's adorable and what a great setting for your new pumpkin piece!!! If that's the worse of your mess, you've got it made!!! It looks pretty orderly to me! Have a great day Diann! I think that the backing you chose for your rainbow quilt is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes, you did extremely well, all things considered! That dotty background is perfect for your TATW.
ReplyDeleteI love your holiday wall! And I can relate to making things messier before I can actually get them organized!
ReplyDeleteYou have been making progress on a lot of littles and I am sure the next top will be done in no time. Love the Pumpkin Patch!
ReplyDeleteOf course rainbow dot print for the RSC quilt. Have you thought about RSC 2022. it will be here before you know it :-) Happy Sewing.
