Slow Stitching the Rainbow

There hasn't been a lot of sewing machine time this week, and when there was time it was reserved for machine quilting the 4 patch quilt.   I've been poking along with it, and I'm getting close.

Consequently, the piecing I've done has been entirely by hand, working on the last two blocks for the Rainbow Trip Around the World quilt.

Pieces prepped for a bright green block:

And a light neutral block finished, with the green block in progress:

Here are all the completed blocks up on my design wall in their color groupings.  This won't be the final layout, of course, but I'll start working on that as soon as the last green block is finished.

And then I'll be hand-piecing the blocks into rows.
I'm really enjoying the slow-stitching process of this quilt
as well as the way the blocks are looking together!

  3. I'm trying to decide for my scrappy patchwork if I will continue working on it through next year or finish it up this year and make an alternative block to go in between them, like stars or something like that - what size are squares are in your 6 x 6 blocks - mine are 12 when finished

  4. I kinda like the orientation of your scrappy squares, just needs some of the colors spread out.

  7. I really like how you arranged your colors in each TATW block, and especially like that white down the middle. It really pulls them together nicely. This will be a happy quilt.

  9. Yea for the win! You did find some green! Isn’t it surprising sometimes when you start the search and then low and behold there is more in your stash than originally thought. At least that is how it works for me! I may never get my scraps busted! Great progress!
