I Like Thursday #255

Happy Thursday!  Thanks for visiting on I Like Thursday, hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  My Wednesday has been packed full!  I went with my mom to a meeting at her assisted living place to see how she's adjusted after a month there, and it turns out she's doing just great!  That felt good to know!

I also went to the eye doctor, which you all know messes you up for many hours afterward.  My eyes are dilated so I can't read, thread a needle, or go outside because it's too bright!  I'm glad to have had the appointment, but will be so happy when my eyes get back to normal.  It does look like cataract surgery is in my future.

Hopefully, I can see well enough to write this post!  😎

I sure love Fall!  The leaves around here are changing color and are so beautiful.  I've been especially enjoying these across the street from us!

And aren't these cute pumpkins?  I love them!

The other day we rearranged some of the things on our walls and put up this grouping in a corner of our family room.  It's a favorite photo from the Oregon coast and a couple from our trip to Alaska a few years ago.   I'm liking this arrangement!

We were so happy to see that "Call the Midwife" returned for its 10th season this past Sunday.  It's one of our favorite shows, and never disappoints!

I've been enjoying this book this week.  As soon as my eyes go back to normal, I'm going to finish it, lol!

Wine, WWII, historical fiction with a current day mystery.
Many of my favorite things in this genre.

Hope you're having a great week!

  4. Isn't it a relief to find out Mom is doing better than you thought?
Let's hold hands and navigate this cataract thing together! I need to visit a specialist and get my surgery scheduled but am putting it off - ugh.
Yes I love those pumpkins too, and they look great on that pretty runner.
I remain jealous of where you live - I just need to move to the mountains!
Have a great rest of the week Diann. :)

  5. I found some small pumpkins like that to use for decoration also - do you cook yours when you no longer want them for decorating? I guess cataract surgery is something most of us have to have sooner than later. I will need to check that book out I always like those that take place in WWII - glad your mom is doing ok

  6. I like that your mother is adjusting beautifully to her new home. That's fantastic news. I found it funny that you were sharing new pictures on your walls and I shared a new one as well. I guess Fall brings out the "nesting" instincts!

  9. I'm sure it's a relief to know that your mom is settling in well! I know what you mean about dilated eyes, so I hope you are seeing much better by now! I need to put that book on my list; it looks like a good one. (I may have just been to the bookstore - true confession!)

  12. Forgive my lack of comments, but this caregiving stuff is time-consuming, as I know you know well. Glad your Mom is adjusting to her new digs.

  13. Before I forget, love that little fall finish. Sweet embroidery. SO many people I know have cataract surgery, all with much success. I'm sure you will too...thankful to be living in these times for all that we have gone through. I'm very happy to hear that news about your Mom. Call the Midwife is a favourite here too. Family room decor looks great too. Take care now esp. of your eyes!
