I Like Thursday #254

Good morning!  Thanks for visiting on I Like Thursday, hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  I found lots to like in my world this week - hope you did, too!

I like that at the end of September, flowers are still blooming in my garden!  Does anyone know the name of these pink, daisy-like flowers?  I have really enjoyed them this year.

We're getting lots of apples from our tree this year!  Many fall on the ground, but there are lots left to pick, too - unfortunately most of them we can't reach.  But here's enough for eating, and some applesauce.  Maybe even a pie!

Last week, Roseanne from Homesewn by Us shared these Dunkin Cold Brew coffee packs, so I decided to try them, and they are good!  Handy, too, as the step of making cold brew where you have to filter out the grounds isn't necessary anymore.

Iced skinny vanilla "latte," anyone?!

Colette (What about Rheema) and I have had multiple conversations about cold brew, and I almost bought the neat cold brew maker she shared awhile back, but then decided since I don't drink cold brew every day, it would make too much for me at one time.  Thanks, though, Colette!

I like Autumn Jubilee, hosted by Carole at From my Carolina Home, throughout October.  Click the button at the top of my sidebar for more info.  Carole always has fun projects, delicious recipes, and other neat things on her blog for the whole month.

In anticipation of a quilty October project, I added to my Halloween themed fabric while we were on our trip last week.  I felt like I needed more pumpkins, and something in purple!

And finally, this made me laugh the other day!  (Because it is often true...)

Have a great Thursday, everyone!

  1. Lots to enjoy and appreciate this week. I like your Halloween themed new additions. I've never tried cold brew, is it the same as iced coffee?

  2. Our flowers here have pretty much peaked out. I liked seeing yours. Could your little daisies be asters?

  4. I hadn't seen the cold brew packs. I had just yesterday seen a coffee cold brew set with the strainer and briefly thought of it and then though too that it was too much for just me and Mike doesn't drink cold coffee drinks - just plain hot black coffee for him. I will look and see if I can find it. I'm still getting some red spider lilies pop up and coneflowers but none of the others are very active

  6. Not sure about your little pink flowers, asters seems likely. I’ve never done an actual cold brew, just ice my regular coffee. Can you get the packets at the grocery store?. We don’t have a Dunkin Donut. BTW, I like your fabric “haul”. I have some of the pumpkins tossed on black, but it’s almost gone! Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Your little pink flower has daisy like leaves, but I don't know exactly what it is. I really like that stripe fabric in your Halloween bundle.

  8. Hi,
Don't know the name of the pink flowers, but they are pretty. And I can almost taste your apples, yummy. Thanks for the link to Autumn Jubilee...I'll be checking that one out. Love your new fabric colors...so pretty. And I hate to admit, but I do the same thing. Forget what I'm doing while I'm doing it...lol. Have a great day!

  9. Hi Diann, lovely post as always. I wonder are your flowers a daisy like mum...if they were bought in a planter...mums are so popular esp. this time of year and there are many forms of them these days.
Meanwhile, great fabrics...I need some purple too. Not a colour that pulls me in. That's wonderful you have enough apples to actually make something. Our apple tree, just the one here, is old and produces about four a season now.

  12. So many good things in this post. One of our local coffee roasters offers cold brew mini-growlers. I used to pick one up, and I haven't done that in awhile. I might have to consider it again. I hope you enjoy your apple pie! I need to get some apple crisp made!

  13. I am of the opinion that Roseanne led us down the rabbit hole. I went looking for sugar free syrups. Found some so I have vanilla and mocha to add to my coffee or smoothies. I am jealous of your apples my trees just aren't doing well. I think they need some major spraying for pests, etc. Great fabrics. Have a fabulous week!

  15. Lol on that quote - so true! :D Nice scores on vacation fabric, especially those pumpkins. I hope someday to have some apples in our back yard, but we have to plant a tree first - hah!
