Inspired by these pretty marigolds in my front garden, I decided to play with orange this week.
I pulled out the crumb box and a few larger chunks to see what I had.
In the crumb box, I found these, not even sure what I originally made them for.
I wondered if they would work for a crumb heart.
And they did!
Here is the rainbow of crumb hearts and wonky stars up on the design wall. You can see my idea for sashing and cornerstones in the first few blocks at the top. It looks like I still need a few more hearts and stars to make this quilt a little bigger.
I also cut out the 36 squares needed for a Scrappy Trips block.
And that has been my evening hand stitching all week. Making good progress, too!
