Aqua for August

It has been delightful to get out the aqua/turquoise/teal scraps to play with this week for August in the Rainbow Scrap Scrap Challenge!  I started the month with some question marks and chandelier blocks.  You can tell I had a few bigger chunks that worked for multiple blocks!

Of course, I had to look at all the chandelier blocks together on the design wall.

The Little Sisters fit right in, don't they?
Read more about them here.

My evening hand stitching has been this hand-pieced Scrappy Trips block in aqua.  I'll continue working on this over the weekend, as well as prepping squares for the second one of these for the month, maybe with a few darker turquoise fabrics.

I love those cats on turquoise!

  3. Is the solid aqua in your blocks more of the Kona Aruba you used as the binding on the mini-sisters? It's a vibrant color.

  19. Oh, yes, those little sisters do fit in. They make their own little chandeliers, and I love how you quilted them. I’m interested in your hand piecing. I’m dithering over making a take-along kit. I had been thinking hexies, but squares look like fun, too, and much easier to prep. Hmmm...
