It's been a week of cleaning up and finishing a few projects, most importantly my Stay at Home Round Robin. You can read more about it in my Friday post, if you're curious!
Along the way, I also finished a couple of smaller things, including my April Table Scraps placemat in light blues. Sharing this at Joyful Quilter's April Table Scraps link-up!
It's looking to me like it might need more quilting,
so I may go back and add some.
A peek at the back:
I also finished up the Kathy Schmitz design I was embroidering. Blue borders were added, some machine stitching around the design, and hand quilting in green in the borders.
Then it turned into a pillow cover to gift to a friend!

Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.
I like your collection of placemats. The blue scrappy one has a neat layout. Your friend’s pillowcase was already pretty but the blue border and green stitching made it shine! Does your friend sing? Have a great weekend Diann.
ReplyDeleteLook! There are only beautiful placemats on the table. The bright happy blue is a great addition to the collection. I absolutly love your new pillow. What a special gift you made. Lucky of your friend!! Happy and safe weekend, Diann. Hugs
ReplyDeleteFinished and now you can create more. Beautiful projects that you can enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGreat placemat collection, just in time for eating on the patio!
ReplyDeletePretty placemats all together on the table. Your embroidery has become an elegant cushion with that deep blue border.
ReplyDeleteLove the addition to your collection of placemats. I think you knew our guild is also making placemats to donate to meals on wheels. They are coming up short on the number they need so I think I will make a few more. I love using up scraps and orphan blocks and this is a great way to do so. Have a nice Saturday Diann.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing up your April TABLE SCRAPS Challenge project Diann!! I absolutely LOVE the fact that you are using your scraps to make placemats for charity. I think I may need to check with our local Meals on Wheels director to see if this is something she would like for my group to take on... AFTER the Lutheran World Relief Mission Quilt Drive has drawn to a close!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice blue addition to your table mat challenge! Your embroidery looks lovely made up into a cushion too.
ReplyDeleteLove that cushion! And your collection of placemats is so pretty, very achievable doing one a month.
ReplyDeleteLovely placemats, Diann! Will the meals program gift them to the participants? Or take them back and reuse them each week. I’m trying to sort out the details! For a project of my own,
ReplyDeleteThe placemats are looking great! Love the stitchery you are making into pillows. Great idea..... I think that might be a summer project for me.
