Table Scraps in blue and a Slow Stitched Finish

It's been a week of cleaning up and finishing a few projects, most importantly my Stay at Home Round Robin.  You can read more about it in my Friday post, if you're curious!

Along the way, I also finished a couple of smaller things, including my April Table Scraps placemat in light blues.  Sharing this at Joyful Quilter's April Table Scraps link-up!

It's looking to me like it might need more quilting,
so I may go back and add some.

A peek at the back:

So now my collection of placemats to donate has four!

I also finished up the Kathy Schmitz design I was embroidering.  Blue borders were added, some machine stitching around the design, and hand quilting in green in the borders.

Then it turned into a pillow cover to gift to a friend!

  1. I like your collection of placemats. The blue scrappy one has a neat layout. Your friend’s pillowcase was already pretty but the blue border and green stitching made it shine! Does your friend sing? Have a great weekend Diann.

  6. Love the addition to your collection of placemats. I think you knew our guild is also making placemats to donate to meals on wheels. They are coming up short on the number they need so I think I will make a few more. I love using up scraps and orphan blocks and this is a great way to do so. Have a nice Saturday Diann.

  7. Congratulations on finishing up your April TABLE SCRAPS Challenge project Diann!! I absolutely LOVE the fact that you are using your scraps to make placemats for charity. I think I may need to check with our local Meals on Wheels director to see if this is something she would like for my group to take on... AFTER the Lutheran World Relief Mission Quilt Drive has drawn to a close!

  10. Lovely placemats, Diann! Will the meals program gift them to the participants? Or take them back and reuse them each week. I’m trying to sort out the details! For a project of my own,
