A stitch here, a stitch there!

With my 15 minutes a day sewing plan for this week, I've been able to get a little bit done!  It reminds me of back before I retired from teaching, and that's all the time I had to sew, but still things were accomplished.  Not a lot at one time, but something!

This week I played with all the colors!

Three arrows for the Follow Your Own Path QAL going on at mmmquilts:

And pieces and parts for a green one ready to sew the next time I have 15 minutes.   These are quick to sew together!

I also sewed up one wonky star in light blue as a leader/ender in between arrows to finish up May.

I'm going to continue my 15 minutes a day sewing goal for the coming week, and hope I can make four more arrows.  Maybe I'll even get some red scraps out for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge in May!

And since I was able to grab at least 15 minutes of sewing time 6 out of 7 days this past week, I'm linking up with Kate at Life in Pieces today, too.

  1. Your projects look great! I may have to adopt your method of 15 minutes a day. Now with gardening season underway, I find I'm in the garden and then too tired to hit my sewing room. Have a great weekend Diann!

  5. That arrow block is so much fun! I try to avoid joining in to each new quilt along, but it is so much fun to enjoy all the new patterns and ideas.

  6. Ooh! I’m liking your colors for Follow Your Own Path. I’m having a bit of difficulty this week with the triangle! Different machine I think! I finally change needles and thread weight and I think that helped! No red in my arrows! I’m glad your small bit of time are working! Progress is progress!

  9. I really like those arrow blocks! You have such a great eye for picking just the right fabrics for them.

  10. The Arrow blocks are so cute! I’m afraid I’d go nuts only sewing 15 minutes per day. For me, it’s more like two hours per day, occasions/health issues/extreme yardwork days excepted. But I can tell that your plan is working for the versatile and organized former teacher that is wonderful You! xo

  13. Your arrows are looking great and I love that little wonky star, of course! I need to look for fabric for the arrows quilt and see if I can get going.

  14. Good to see you are keeping up Sandra's QAL despite your business. I was cleaning up my cutting table and collected a fair number or odd sized triangle cutoff, so I think some wonky stars are in my future. Have a good weekend.

  16. Every little bit of sewing gets you closer to a finish. You accomplished a lot in that time.

  17. Sewing for just a few minutes each morning makes such a difference in my day. It's way cheaper than therapy, and in the end quilts get made! I love your arrows, pointing the way.

  18. Your arrow blocks look great Diann! It's amazing how much one can do with just 15 minutes (of sanity ha) a day. Oh those teaching days....nope don't miss them, maybe the interaction with the kids but that's it!

  20. I love the arrows and the star is sweet, too! I've been trying to be intentional about at least 30 minutes a day of working on my son's graduation quilt, and it's amazing how well that has worked out. Even when i didn't feel like sewing I'd think, oh, I can do it for just 30 minutes... Then once I got started, I usually just kept going unless something interrupted me!

  21. You always have the best blocks to share! Super fun arrows, but for some reason that wonky blue star stands out to me! Last week was a lot of sporadic quilting for me. Between yard work and helping my daughter with her quilt left me with very little time to get serious with anything!

  22. It does help to have the parts to a block cut and ready to sew. . .your arrows are super cute as is your wonky star! Congratulations on meeting your 15 minutes a day sewing goal!

  25. It's amazing how much you can get done in just 15 minutes. I had a friend who's sewing room was right next to her kitchen so she could sew when she had a few minutes. Much success for this week's 15 minutes a day.
