28 inches of snow in 24 hours adds a few extra to-dos to the list! Specifically, shoveling out so we can get out of the house. Here was our view Monday morning:
We were out twice on Sunday working on the snow, but more fell, so we started over again! Monday we got the sidewalks done. Today (Tuesday) maybe out to the street? We live on a cul de sac, so we have to be able to get from our driveway to the main section of the street!
Meanwhile back in the sewing room, there's been progress on several projects!
- My Stay at Home Round Robin needed a little fixing before I could move it forward. It only took looking at a photograph and about a week's time to notice the problem. See down in the bottom right hand corner?
Oops!
Once I got that section fixed, I finished the pinwheels, hooked them together with spacer strips, and experimented with something for the sides.
I'll start building out to each corner next!
- The blog hop quilt is quilted and binding ready to sew on!
- My March Table Scraps project in green was finished up. You can read more about that HERE. I'm giving away all the leftover jelly roll strips from that project in case you're interested.

I just showed my husband your snow photo. We are amazed. When we lived in Oklahoma the 2009 Christmas Eve blizzard brought us 14 inches of snow, so that is twice that. I can't imagine. Sorry I didn't even notice your SAHRR error - lol! Glad you got your quilting done for your blog hop.
ReplyDeleteglad the error was fixed before you got on to the next section. So seeing as you live in a street off the main street how long does it take before it gets plowed or do you mean it never gets plowed - if that is the case? That is a lot of snow - thankfully at this time of year one can assume it will melt fast.

ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of snow! When it snows like that here, we just hunker down until it melts off. On our steep mountain, the angle and length of the driveway down to the main road is too much to shovel, and too steep for a bobcat.
ReplyDeleteI love snow but only up to about 8". 28"? Ridiculous! The good thing about living in Colorado is it doesn't last as long as say Chicago, Cleveland, Syracuse, etc. Remember to take it easy while shoveling. Don't hurt yourself. Baby steps when it comes to removing that much snow. Your SAHRR is really shaping up!
ReplyDeleteOh the snow looks beautiful!!! I'm not quite as jealous tho now that it's March and yeah, that's a lot of snow. My daughter was supposed to fly into Denver this past weekend. When they started predicting all the snow she was getting really excited but I warned her--sure enough, everything got cancelled. At least she wasn't driving and dealing with getting stopped out in western KS which happens a lot when anyone heads that way. I heard that I-70 is closed at Hays. Well, anyhoo, looks like great sewing weather at least! Hopefully it won't hang around too long this time. The projects are looking great--glad you found the ooops when you did (looks like something I would do for sure!).
ReplyDeleteI thought about you and Lee Anna and the family we have in storm Xylia’s path! Up here on the edge, we got “diddley”, but today black ice. All roads west and north are closed and one south for 49 miles too, Guess I have lots to do! I still think your SAHRR is going to be fabulous! I’m so excited to see your Salt and Sand Blog Hop entry!

Your SAHRR just keeps getting better and better! And WOW is all I have to say about all that snow. It's pouring down rain this morning in North Carolina, and I'm about to drive off with my son to visit a college in South Carolina. Here I was complaining that MY weather was unsuitable for today's plans... At least I'm not snowed in! Happy quilting to you!

ReplyDeleteYou guys really got blasted! Has it melted yet? That will be a mess when it does. Your Round Robin quilt is coming along nicely, even with the oops! At least you spotted it soon enough to fix it. That's always a good thing.
