Wildfires have erupted in Colorado this week, and yesterday afternoon it seemed that our sky was looking a bit purple with all the smoke coming our way. Fortunately, the actual fire is a long ways away.
But the purple scraps down in my sewing room are way more fun than that! My main goal this week was to cut, sew, and trim the 24 HSTs that are needed for the August zigzag row. And they are on the wall and ready to sew together!
Looking at this photo, I'm thinking I need to spread the lavendar blocks
out and away from each other a bit more than they are right now.
Along the way I added several double four patches in purple to the collection -
And four Easy Breezy blocks with purple in them.
Lots of fun things up on the design wall!

I really like the easy-breezy blocks. And the blue grunge background with your 4Ps.
ReplyDeleteLove your design wall - hope that fire stays a long ways away but I know it can sure darken the sky giving it an ugly scary look.
ReplyDeletebeautiful work - hope the wildfires are contained soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Design Hall looks SEW nice with the addition of your PURPLE scrappy blocks, Diann!!
ReplyDeleteYour purples are actually so cheery, Diann. I'm woefully lacking in that colour!
ReplyDeleteLove all the purples on your design wall! Hope there's a heavy rain soon that puts the fires out. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeletebeautiful design wall... full of possibility!
ReplyDeletethe smoke... the frightening fires... and no rain in sight
That is a fun design wall! I keep forgetting about my easy breezy blocks. Hope the fires stay away.
ReplyDeleteFire season in the west, hurricanes in the east. I hope you and all our Quilty friends stay safe! All the blocks you’re making look so happy and playful up on the design board. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteLove the design wall photo! The zigzag is so cool... I would probably put the lavender ones together to point up and look like 2 lavender flying geese.
ReplyDeleteLove the easy breezy blocks... aren't they fun to sew?
Stay safe in the fire zone!
Certainly seems like Mother Nature decided a pandemic wasn't enough to challenge us, so she's throwing wind, fire and rain at us to test our mettle. But your design wall offers a burst of color to distract us from all the chaos.

Do you just grin when you walk into your room and look at that design wall? I would! So many cheerful, happy projects!
ReplyDeleteFun things on the design wall is right!
ReplyDeleteGood thing that in this case where there's smoke there is NOT fire.
Purple is such a fun color to work with, I think. On your double four patches, the background looks quite a bit darker in the photo of your design wall. Is that more accurate than the color in the close up pic?
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see all your blocks up on the wall. The double four patches look wonderful with the blue background, really makes the monthly colours sing! Love your zig zag row too.
ReplyDeleteYour design wall looks so fun! Thanks for linking all that scrappy goodness up with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteLOve your design wall. so many pretties up there.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, and I am jealous of your spectacular design wall! I have no wall space to do that as my sewing room is all windows and doors, and shelves.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful bright scrappy projects! Thanks for letting us peek at your design wall!
ReplyDeleteYou do have lots of fun stuff up on the design wall. Hope you get lots of time to work on them this week.
ReplyDeleteYou just have such a fun wall!!!
ReplyDeleteBoo to the fires, but yay for all your fun, happy blocks. The double four patches are especially great. Stay safe! I hope the fires come nowhere near you.
ReplyDeleteI heard on the news about the wildfires in Colorado and wondered how close it was to you and my SIL. Glad they're a ways away! Love your double 4-patches. Lookin' good!
