April Color Challenge Block

April's Color Challenge block, designed by Patterns by Jen, is pretty in purple!  Based on an interesting bird called the Purple Honeycreeper, I enjoyed making this block in different shades of purple.

Purple honeycreepers live mostly in South America, but are related to tanagers which do live in North America.  They have quite an interesting bill, long and curved, which helps them drink nectar.

Here are my four blocks for this year, so far!

  1. I love all your blocks, but that purple one is definitely my favorite. Take care, Mary.

  2. Oh wouldn't that bird be fun to have at our feeders!! But I am not moving to or visiting South America;) Your quilt is going to be so pretty, your colors are looking good together.

  3. I just love this block, and those purples are beautiful. All your blocks look great together!
I just read your To-Do Tuesday post and love the fabrics you've cut for "Jo" on the hand-pieced SAL.
Speaking of SALs and QALs, I vowed this year I wouldn't get involved in any but here I am in the middle of them. I just can't resist!
