I got busy right away with hand-piecing some pumpkins, using this tutorial from Patty at Elm Street Quilts. The background is scraps of Moda Bella Ivory, cut when I was trimming embroidery pieces.
I used Patty's size chart for the first two that I made,
and then it was easy to figure out the dimensions for
a smaller pumpkin, and a tall, skinny one.
These pumpkins are so fun to stitch up - I really enjoy the hand-piecing process!
Meanwhile, I've gotten caught up on Almost Amish, part 3, and done a bit of part 4. We made a lot of nine patches, and now they are being sewn into bigger blocks.
I'm using scraps from my solids drawer for this quilt along, sponsored by Lori, at Humble Quilts.
I'm sure I'll be spending time on both of these projects this afternoon! Hope you have some time to stitch this afternoon, too.
Linking up with Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap!
and Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.
