Strawberries!

I had a "Drop Everything and Make It" moment this week...  If you've visited my blog before, you probably know that's not unusual!

Our family has always loved strawberries, and when I saw Vicki's adorable tablerunner a couple weeks ago (See it HERE), I knew I needed to follow her link to the pattern and make one!  It's from the blog, Skyberries Handmade.

It was fun, and also a little challenging, to pick through my red and green scraps to find just the right pieces to make a strawberry.

Dark reds, bright reds, orange-y reds, stripes, text fabric - I used it all!
I thought the red and green dots on white made a perfect background, too.

I pulled this piece from my stash for the backing -

Oh, so true!

This bright yellow - green print was perfect for the binding.

A fun and fast project!

I think this is just where my strawberry belongs!

Sandra at mmmquilts is having her DrEAMi link-up this weekend, so I'll be sharing this there, and also at Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap on Sunday.

  8. I love your little strawberry. You picked just the right fabrics including a bit of white here and there to make you strawberry shine. She looks great next to her sister pineapple on your mini wall.

  10. Hi Diann! I saw Vicki's original post and was almost inspired to make something featuring a strawberry as well. Now you are definitely pushing the button for me. I'm off to find some pretty reds, although your choices are just PERFECT. Love the white with reds dots for the background . . . I.love.everything.about.this. Happy Saturday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

  11. Another perfect DrEAMi! Yay! I saw Vicki's runner too and thought how cute, and hmm, I made a strawberry block as part of the Molli Sparkles QAL, which I let fall by the wayside...and then I thought ooh, June is coming, soon strawberry time will be here... Love seeing your mini wall, and thank you for linking up and helping spread the word for us squirrel chasers!

  14. It's the sweetest strawberry and the prints are so much fun. Lucky you for having the right spot to hang this up. I'm quite jealous that I don't seem to ever sew minis-maybe I need to start.
