Sticking with the Plan

I'm sticking with my promise (to myself!) to focus on getting some things finished in the first part of 2019.  This week I got Squared Away, my 2018 Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler, basted and the quilting started.

Red blocks made in 2018

Along the way, though, there was time to stitch a few more of my leader/ender Tiny Rails blocks in Christmas red scraps.

And a Tiny Tuesday block happened, too!

This is the first *ever* circle I have appliqued, so I followed Angela's tutorial and it worked perfectly!  Thank you, Angela!

So now there are two!

They look a little lopsided here on the design wall, but I think that is more a reflection of my photography skills than my sewing skills!  :)  I know I measured correctly!

  5. You are really whipping along! I love the reds. Your circle looks awesome! I assume you blind-stitched it?
I just checked out Angela's tutorial, and it looks simple and easy to follow.
On a side note, I really don't understand leaders/enders, in spite of the posts I've read. I don't know if I have a mental block or what. But I love those tiny rails.

  6. do all of these blocks go in the same quilt or are they in several quilts. I like the idea of different blocks each month - gives you a variety of things to work on

  17. Thank you for explaining leaders and enders in a way my simple mind can understand! :) So it's a little like multi-tasking? I'll give it a whirl.

  18. You are brave! I'm always afraid to start setting my RSC blocks until the year ends and I have a pile of them. I've been debating whether I should go ahead and set my Tiny Tuesday blocks, so seeing yours is helping me reach a conclusion. I'll have to check the stash for suitable fabrics and maybe (gasp!) make a trip to the fabric store.
