I've had company for the better part of a week. I couldn't escape to my sewing room for some time to work on something - it would just be rude, right?! I was chomping at the bit just to go and play with fabric and thread. I think that is probably how many squirrel projects are born!
So as soon as I was able to, after my mom went home, down I went, and this mini charm pack of Color Wheel Solids that I had gotten in my recent Connecting Threads order was calling my name.
I pulled out 36 little squares, trying for a good mix of colors, and started sewing them into pairs, and then into 4 patches.
Pretty color!
These went together into a 36 patch.
I added some Kona Maize for a border and this for the backing. Tomatoes!
Aren't they perfect for it?!
Some diagonal grid quilting, and a tone on tone yellow for the binding.
Just right for a doll quilt!
I think she likes it!

that is cute - I love the little charm packages - I got 2 packs of cream color from Missouri Star Quilt Co when I was there in June and popped them in one of the bags to take along with me in case I run out of things to play with along with some small pkgs of other colors.

ReplyDeleteSo sweet!! And the perfect little project to jump back in after a break. I've been visiting family this week and I'm chomping at the bit, too :)
ReplyDeleteDian, I’m in love with the tomato fabric!
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love! Especially the tomato fabric - which essentially makes your quilt circles and squares.
ReplyDeleteDoes your Mom share/understand your quilting obsession? :D
What a great way to dive back into the sewing room. A very fun and colorful doll quilt. The tomatoes on the back are just too cool.
ReplyDeleteCute quilt Dian. Certainly looks like dolly is pleased! A very neat finish.

I would say that was the perfect way to get back into the sewing room. What a sweet little quilt.
ReplyDeleteTotally get that need to just play with fabric, and chomping at the bit when company is present! Adorable and graphic little doll quilt for an adorable doll. Did you make her too? Thanks for linking up, and sorry it's taken me so long to visit!
