The pattern is called Nighttime Blossoms, created by my quilty friend, Cynthia Brunz, and published in the Fall 2015 edition of "Easy Quilts." I used the teal, pink, and lime green fabrics from the Good Neighbors collection by Amanda Jean of Crazy Mom Quilts from Connecting Threads for the focus fabrics and a gray solid from Connecting Threads for the background fabric. The white on white (the triangles) is from my LQS.
I ended up deciding to quilt my Beautiful Blossoms with edge to edge straight line quilting that went diagonally from corner to corner. As a walking foot quilter, sometimes this simple quilting works the best on bigger quilts, and I really do like the kind of pattern it creates on the quilt.
The backing for this quilt is a pretty gray swirl that came from Hobby Lobby, and I like it so much I decided to use it for the binding as well. But a scrappy quilter has to mix it up a bit, so I added a few pops of color (scraps from the quilt) to my binding!
I'm about half way finished stitching down the binding, and I expect that will be done this afternoon, while football is on TV at my house. Perfect for some Sunday stitching!
I'm looking forward to sticking this in the washer and dryer, and taking some finished photos of it. Then I will be snuggling up under it to read my next Book Club book this coming week. My favorite use of a quilt!

I'm doing a binding during football Sunday too! I like the little scraps incorporated into your binding.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this quilt! The fabrics, the colors and especially the quilting. Enjoy your slow stitching Sunday and thanks for sharing your quilt with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI love those little pops of color (confetti!) in the binding! Looks like the perfect cuddle-quilt for reading, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and indeed a celebration! Enjoy your binding during today's games. What is your book club reading? Mine has kind of fizzled out...
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is looking amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. Seems we can't go wrong with Connecting Threads! I've got to be one of their biggest fans.
ReplyDeleteLove your fabrics for this quilt! I have a great bunch of FQs - I may have to make this quilt! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteloving this quilt and love Amanda`s fabric unfortunately it is not available in the UK if it ever comes here I will certainly be adding some to my fabric stash
ReplyDeleteI marked that very pattern when I saw it in Easy Quilts. Your version is wonderful! (And, BTW, I'm retired and I still don't have enough time to quilt. )
ReplyDeleteLove how this looks, I was so tempted to get some of that fabric just because I love that green with the little white flowers!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are loving your retirement - it really comes across in your posts and your love-quilting!
ReplyDeleteLots of scrappy goodness there. Very pretty. What a great memory quilt to snuggle under this year.
